Achievement Info
Young hero!

The Gods have taken an interest in your odyssey. Try not to dissapoint them!
No matter what armies you face, what power you wield or what creatures you unleash, the Gods trust you will find a way to write your own legend about how to unlock all achievements in Age of Mythology: Retold.

Complete The Campaign
Our good old heroes are back: lead Arkantos, the king of Atlantis, into battle, uncover the conspiracy of the Gods and Titans, do not let the evil Gargarensis carry out his plans. Help Brokk and Eitri finish their project, and also decide the fate of Arkantos' son Castor and his people after the events of the original game.

After completing all the campaigns, you will unlock a huge number of achievements and prepare yourself for other game modes.

Play The Unusual Way
Some achievements will require a very unusual playstyle, fortunately they can be obtained in matches with bots, so even if your efforts are not crowned with success, there is always the opportunity to try again.

Grind Once Again
If you've played any of the Age of Empires games on Steam before, you know that many achievement descriptions are fairly simple and easy, but they involve the same repetitive process.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), this happens in this game too. Be prepared to repeat some actions over and over, match after match, for 100% achievements.

I Know What I Am Talking About
Many years ago I already played original AoM and AoM: Extended Edition. I've unlocked a lot of achievements for this game here on Steam and while I wasn't able to complete the game 100% due to the grinding involved, I definitely know what I'm talking about.

Spoiler Free Zone.
The most descriptions of the achievements does not reveal any heavy spoilers for the game, so you can browse through this guide without fear of spoiling your impression of the game's story.

However, remember that the original game was released over 20 years ago and the story campaigns in the game remained the same, without changes. It is very difficult to spoil such a game.

If you have never played this game before, then perhaps some screenshots or information about the story missions may contain spoilers for you. Have a good play!

All In

Village and Town Center can be contructed only on Settlements. Just win a match without building any and the achievement is yours.

No Time for Mortals / Hersir, Your Honor

These two achievements are easiest to get together. Just pick any Norse God and win the match, provided you only train mythical creatures and heroes.

Heroes are not considered regular infantry, so you can safely train as many of them as you want.
Pet of Set

Animals of Set are creatures under the influence of the Egyptian major god Set. At the start of each Age, bonus units appear at the Set player's Temple, some animals can be summoned by the Pharaoh. In addition, Set's Priests are able to convert any huntable animal in the game.

Chonkers

For this achievement you need herdable animals, like Cows, Goats, Pigs and Yaks.

The difference from other animals, such as wild ones, is that wild animals need to be hunted, but herdable animals can be captured and controlled if any of your units passes by them.

Be careful, enemy players and AI can also capture your herdable animals if your units are not near them or there are fewer of them than the enemy ones.

At the very beginning of the match, each of the herdable animals on map contains a small amount of food, but the longer you leave them alive, the fatter they become. Along with the HP bar, these animals have another bar that displays their fatness.

Reach the maximum fatness for 10 of these animals under your control and the achievement is yours.

Fast Food

Farms are the main source of unlimited food, starting from the Classical Age. For this achievement you need to win the match without building any farms, which can be quite problematic, because other food sources are non-renewable and will not provide a stable flow of food.

Therefore, it seems to me that the easiest way to win is in Deathmatch Mode. In this mode, players are immediately given a huge amount of resources (15,000 each) and therefore you can immediately proceed to building an army and attack the enemy.
Terrif-eyeing

Start match by picking Kronos or Gaia as Major God. Proceed to Mythical Age and choose Atlas as Minor god to unlock Argus myth unit training in your temple.

Argus is capable of spewing an acid pool at an enemy and drowning them in it. This creature has a huge number of eyes, the exact number is unknown, but it is approximately 30 eyes, so you will need to have 20+ arguses in order to unlock the achievement.

Hoplite Heresy

Just win the match with melee infantry, build mass baracks.
Non ranged heroes and myth units are allowed too.

Anger Problems

Start match by picking Odin or Loki as Major God. Proceed to Classical Age and choose Heimdall as Minor god to unlock Einherjar myth unit training in your temple.

Einherjar can cast a Horn blast ability with Q hotkey: allied units within an aura of 10 range get +50% attack (gradually weakens until the effect ends). Also this deals minor damage to nearby enemies.

Anubitten

Start match by picking Set or Isis as Major God. Proceed to Classical Age and choose Anubis as Minor god to unlock Anubite myth unit training in your temple.

Their special ability is that they can leap towards any enemy and damage them, so it is quite problematic to escape from them. Build as many Anubites as possible and hunt down enemy villagers for this achievement.

Beastly Bulwark

Start match by picking Kronos or Gaia as Major God. Proceed to Heroic Age and choose Rheia as Minor god to unlock Behemoth myth unit training in your temple.

Behemoths regenerate their health at an increased rate, making them a great living siege weapon that can restore their HP itself without the need for repairs. They also have a passive ability that reduces damage they take from the front (not the sides or back), making them great for storming enemy strongholds and city centers. Let your Behemoths block a total of 5000 damage and the achievement will be yours.

Centum Centauri

Start match by picking Zeus or Poseidon as Major God. Proceed to Heroic Age and choose Hermes as Minor god to unlock Centaur myth unit training in your temple.

This unit is an excellent range unit that can make unmissing shots. Train as much Centaurs as you can and kill enemy troops.

Remember about Chiron's Apprentice achievement in Campaign Section. You can unlock these two achievements together.

I Believe They Can Fly

Throwing enemies into the air is one of the combat mechanics in the game. Most large mythical units have abilities that throw infantry or regular units into the air. Every Titan in the game has the same ability, and some God Powers like Meteor Strike also toss units in the air.

You need to cumulatively throw 500 any units into the air over any number of games, regardless of the game mode.

Kronos' Telephone Booth

Start match by picking Kronos as Major God. Build a temple and research Temporal Chaos. This technology increases the number of buildings which can be simultaneously shifted using Time Shift by +2 (for a total of 3), and halves the cost of using Time Shift on the Sentry Tower-line, Palaces, and Mirror Towers.

Minoan Tennis

Start match by picking Hades or Zeus as Major God. Proceed to Classical Age and choose Athena as Minor god to unlock Minotaur myth unit training in your temple.

Minotaurs have Gore ability: sends an enemy unit flying away, causing 60 hack damage. This works on all human units and the following humanoid, infantry-like myth units: other Minotaurs, the Cyclops, Anubite, Scorpion Man, Mummy, Avenger, Einheri, and Jiangshi.

To unlock this achievement you need at least 2 minotaurs to use their ability on the same unit. Make sure this unit survives after the first tossing.

Norse Space Program

Start match by picking Odin or Loki as Major God. Proceed to Heroic Age and choose Njord as Minor god to unlock Jotun myth unit training in your temple. Playing as Loki you can also choose Hel reaching Mythic Age and unlock Jotuns as well.

Norse Jotuns can kick enemy infantry troops by pressing W. Do it with any enemy unit to unlock achievement.

Omnivore

Start match by picking any greek god as Major God. Proceed to Mythic Age and choose Hephaestus as Minor god to unlock Colossus myth unit training in your temple.

Damaged Colossuses can eat trees and gold mines to restore their HP.
Use this skill to restore at least 5000 HP cumulatively.

Poseidon's Revolt

Start match with Poseidon as Major God. Every time any of Poseidon's buildings are destroyed, several Militia units appear from its ruins. These units are controlled by the player, so they can be given orders. You need to kill any 50 enemy units with Militia, the achievement is cumulative.

Praise the Sun

Start match by picking Ra as Major God. Ra's Priests can empower buildings like the Pharaoh, though less effectively. But anyway this is still possible, so you have to train 14 priests + Pharaon and 15 building to empower them.

Prowl Patrol

Start match by picking Odin, Thor or Loki as Major God. Proceed to Mythic Age and choose Tyr as Minor god to unlock Fenris Wolf Broods.

These units become much stronger with each new brood, so your job here is to summon a few of these and go hunting for enemy villagers.

Ride of the Valkyries

Start match by picking Odin, Thor or Freyr as Major God. Proceed to Classical Age and choose Freyja as Minor god to unlock Valkyrie myth unit training in your temple.

Valkyrie is warrior unit that also can heal, so take them to any battle to heal your units and progress the achievement.

Wrath of the Gods

Proceed to Mythic Age with any Major God to unlock all 4 god powers. Then cast it one by one.
Remember that a new god power cannot be used in the area of another active god power. This means that if you use a god power that affects the entire map, you will need to use it last. If the god power is targeted or in a small area, then you can simply select another target or area on the map to use the power.

God powers in AoM Retold are rechargeable, this means that unlike the original, they can be used again after a while after the cooldown and if you have enough of such a resource as God Favor.

Zeus Eat Town Center

Train an army of only human infantry units, no mythical creatures, and destroy town center. Each time your squad begins to storm the city center, dynamic music begins to play.

Destroy 3 city centers cumulatively and the achievement is yours.

Boxing Match

Train as many villagers as you can and send them to attack. Usually when your villagers are attacked, they will flee, but in this case you need to press RMB on enemy units to make them fight.

Some gods, such as the Greek Aphrodite, have upgrades that help your workers be stronger, which can also be useful for unlocking achievements.

Finish off any 50 enemy units with your villagers to unlock the achievement. Wounded units and the same villagers are best.

Care and Calamity

Start match by picking Oranos or Gaia as Major God. Proceed to Classical Age and choose Oceanus as Minor god to unlock Caladria myth unit training in your temple.

Caladria is a flying healing unit, so take them to any battle to heal your units and progress the achievement.

Big Boomer / Thorium Mining

The player can only have up to 100 Villagers at any given time regardless of the population cap status.

So train your villagers until you reach this limit. Remember that dwarves can only be trained by playing as the Norse. Training 100 dwarves unlocks both achievement. However, to unlock Thorium Mining you cannot build regular villagers: only dwarves.

AoM Retold also has an interesting auto-training feature that, when enabled, automatically trains villagers.

Age

Age Against The Machine

Run skirmishes and add the maximum number of AI opponents to the match, the difficulty does not matter, after which you need to win the match. Each defeated AI player will be counted towards the achievement progress.

It is worth remembering that in order for the enemy AI to surrender itself (at least this was the case in the original AoM), it is enough to destroy all of its Town Centers.

Annihilation

Cumulative achievement, any destroyed enemy units in any match count, including story campaigns.
Auto Everything

Cumulative achievement, villagers built in any game mode, regardless of faction, are counted in the progress. Once again, I will remind you about the automatic training function of villagers.
First Blood

Simply choose Multiplayer game mode, host your own match or join any lobby, start match and just finish it, no matter you win or lose.

Creating a Masterpiece

The Wonder is a special building in Age of Mythology. It is a magnificent monument that can provide the builder another means to victory in Supremacy mode. Wonders are extremely expensive and take very long to construct. As soon as construction is completed, a 10-minute countdown starts. If the Wonder is still standing at the end of the countdown, the player who built it is victorious, along with all of their allies.

Just finish constructing this building at least once to unlock the achievement. If you are afraid of enemy troops attacking, I advise you to set the difficulty level to low and also choose a map with islands so that you are not disturbed when building the Wonder. It is much easier to build Wonder in Deathmatch mode.

Greek Wonders
Zeus — Statue of Zeus at Olympia
Hades — Mausoleum at Halicarnassus
Poseidon — Theatre of Dionysus

Egyptian Wonders
Ra — Great Pyramid of Giza
Isis — Great Sphinx of Giza
Set — Temple of Hathor and Nefertari at Abu Simbel

Norse Wonders
Odin — Tower of Odin
Thor — Donar's Oak
Loki — Naglfar
Freyr — Álfheimr

Atlantean Wonders
Kronos — Sundial Tower
Oranos — Oranos' Palace
Gaia — Aqueduct Fountain
Cyclopean Masonry

Each of the four factions has its own Fortress, but they differ in appearance. The achievement is cumulative, you just need to build 50 such buildings for any faction and in any number of matches. Fortress buildings unlock by proceeding to Heroic Age.

Greek Fortress
Egypt Migdol Stronghold
Norse Hill Fort
Atlantean Palace
Demolition

Cumulative, any enemy buildings that were destroyed by your attacks are counted.

Horror Unleashed / Titanic Terror

In order to gain control of Titan, you must first reach the Mythic Age. Upon reaching Mythic, you’ll have to research the “Titan Age”. The name is slightly misleading though, as the only thing that you’ll get after finishing the research of the Titan Age is a Titan Gate. The Titan Gate icon will appear directly next to your god power icons, and you’ll be able to place the gate just like a normal building.

After placing the Titan Gate, you’ll have to get your villagers to working on the gate, just like a Wonder. If your gate survives the repeated attacks that you’ll definitely get until your villagers complete it, your Titan will emerge from the gate and will be ready to wreak havoc on your enemies.

You will get the achievement once you free your first Titan, and also after you have done this at least once while playing as each of the 4 factions, regardless of your Major God choice.

Defeat 100 AI

How is this supposed to be done? I've beaten 11 AI in a 12 player game 10 times using Lightning / King of the Hill mode but don't have the achievement.

Is there a specific game setup you need for it count to as "Defeating AI"?

Quick question: For "Fast Food", would fishing ships count towards its completion?
