When Thorald Olavson's village is burned down by Valgard, a Viking Jarl, he swears revenge. Not only that his father, a respected Viking, was killed in the devious attack, but also that his great love Raija fell victim to Valgard Varinsson. Therefore, he goes to England finding out what has become of Raija. Thorald soon realizes that Raija seems to play an important role for the English king and puts himself in ever greater danger. You must help him to reach his goals in order to unlock all 100% achievements.

Complete Story Campaign
Almost all achievements in the game are related to the story campaign, so by going through the entire game from beginning to end, you will unlock the vast majority of all possible achievements. Here you won’t need anything special: just play at your own pace and complete the game. Do not skip tutorial and Raya`s Escape bonus level to grant an additional achievements too.

Kill Bosses
The story campaign is divided into 5 Chapters. At the end of each level, a boss awaits you and is marked on the map with a Skull icon. Each of these bosses is unique, for defeating each of them you will get an achievement, so by completely completing the story campaign you will be able to collect almost all of them.

Also during each Chapter you face 3 unique enemies, that you can consider like mini bosses. Killing them unlocks an achievement for you too. You probably won't miss them so no need to worry here.

Dive in Horde Mode.
In addition to the story campaign, the game has a Horde Mode, there you need to hold out and survive the attacks of as many enemy waves as possible. There are several achievements in this mode, the most difficult requires for you to reach wave 75.

Spoiler Alert.
Some descriptions of achievements and methods of obtaining them may contain spoilers, so if you do not want to spoil your impression of the game and want to find out all the plot twists yourself, I recommend refraining from using this guide and returning only if you are not afraid of spoilers or have already completed the game.

Therefore, I ask you not to write in the comments about any spoilers that you saw here. You are responsible for yourself. Thank you for understanding.

⚔️ Good Boy

This is the very first achievement you can unlock during the tutorial.

After you leave Asgard and complete the basic battle mechanics with the Hallstein, you'll move on to learning how to build your own camp. A dog will be waiting for you in the camp, press E to interact with it and the achievement will immediately unlock.

Now this dog will always be in the closest settlement or outpost to the enemy. Watch his behavior, because as soon as he starts barking loudly, this means that an enemy squad is moving in your direction. Be prepared to defend!

⚔️ The Journey Begins

Start the new game, watch the intro cinematic and do not skip tutorial. The tutorial consists of several stages:

The Asgardian stage explains how your hero's runes and magic belt work.

In the next stage, the old man Hallstein will teach you basic combat mechanics.

Then there will be training on base construction and resource management.

The last stage teaches you how to manage your combat units, commands in battle and combat formations. Once you complete all required stages the toturial finishes and the achievement should pop up.

⚔️ Scarecrow

Scarecrow is the enemy unit that you can meet during the first outpost in Chapter I. Kill it to unlock an achievement.

⚔️ Fire Devil

Fire Devil is an enemy that can be found in the second outpost during Chapter I.

⚔️ Death of a Viking

Valgard is the very first boss you encounter in the game. You will trigger the dialogue with him as soon as you begin to besiege his fortress.

Break through his defenses and enter the Hall to engage in battle there. Before the start of the battle, I strongly recommend improving your hero as much as possible: the maximum HP and stamina level, as well as the amount of Meat and Mead that you can carry. This will come in handy.

The fight itself is quite simple: Valgard uses crushing axe attacks that can knock you down and deal a lot of damage, so you need to combine sword strikes and rolls, and then try to hit him with arrows from afar.

Periodically, he will start swinging the axe around himself, but after this attack he will stop to tach a breath and this is a good moment to attack. Remember that you will need increased Hero stats and a lot of Meat and Mead with you, because restoring HP and stamina during the battle will be problematic. Defeat him to unlock an achievement.

⚔️ Furry

You can meet this enemy in the first outpost during Chapter II. It looks like strong female warrior with two short axes.

⚔️ Wololo

Another special enemy which looks like priestess, can be found in the second outpost during Chapter II. Kill her to unlock achievement.

⚔️ RIP

This is the last special enemy in Chapter II. It can be found in the last outpost right before Bishop
castle. Kill him to unlock the achievement.

⚔️ Unholy

Bishop is Chapter II Boss. You have to reach the end of the map to fight him.

Let me remind you that before the battle it is important to spend all the gold on improvements for your hero.

Bishop is a very slow boss with strong melee attacks, so this enemy is best defeated with ranged weapons. Therefore, do not skimp on upgrades in the Forge and buy fire arrows and throwing javelins. Dodge his attacks and shoot at him, the arrows reload quite quickly, and if you still managed to collect the necessary runes, then your task will become even easier. Ultimately, I defeated this boss without actually getting into a fight with him.

After you leave him 2/3 of the total HP bar, he will start crying and grab benches to crush your head. When there is even less health left, chandeliers will begin to fall from the ceiling, and Bishop will begin to make waves across the carpet in order to knock you off your feet.

Keep dodging all these objects and hit your opponent with arrows and javelins. If you like to be risky one, then you can jump behind him and deliver 2-3 hits and roll again.

Completely defeat the boss and you will immediately unlock the achievement.

⚔️ Skull And Bones

This enemy can be found in the first outpost in Chapter III. He looks like a giant man with a huge shield. Kill him to unlock ac achievement.

⚔️ Human Goods

Push foward to the next outpost to find this fat man in a cart with slaves. Kill him to get the achievement.

⚔️ Everything Is Fresh

This buddy can be found in the 3rd outpost in the Chapter III still. Literally looks like a butcher. Kill him to unlock the achievement.

⚔️ Beast

Reach the end of the map in Chapter III and destroy the last castle to face The Bloodhound boss.

This boss moves quickly and attacks you with his chain and hook, knocking you down and dealing damage. I'm already used to the fact that such a nimble enemy can be dealt with arrows and javelins. I spent the gold that I found in Сhapter 3 on improving them, so the damage and their quantity allowed me to shoot the boss and dodge his attacks without much harm to myself.

Once you leave the boss 2/3 and 1/3 of the total HP bar, but Bloodhound will climb the stairs to the upper platform and release his hound in the hope that it will tear you to pieces. The hound does not bite very painfully, so it can be killed with a few blows of the sword in close combat. Once the hound is dead, Bloodhound climbs down from the platform and continues the fight.

Reduce the boss's HP bar to zero and complete the battle to get the achievement.

⚔️ The Great Escape

After defeating Bloodhound boss you will proceed with this bonus level. Do not skip it, but if you, do you can start this level from Main Menu.

Raya finds herself released from prison by a strange woman and now she has to escape from her captors. You will play the entire level as Raya in this stealth level, so avoid enemy guards and leave this place.

Hold Space to make Raya sneak, using this you can pass through sleeping guards even when the room is lighted. Use it to move behind the guards that overwatches the coridors without making any noise.
Press E in dark coridors to hide. This will let guards to pass you by without being detected, but only if the place you hide is not lightened. You can't move while you're hiding.
Throw Clay Pots to make noise and distract the guards. The sound of breaking pot wakes up sleeping guards and allows you to sneak unnoticed even in a bright room while the guards are distracted.
Throw Water Pouch to extinguish any light sources in a room like candles, torches, etc. Dark hallways and rooms make you harder to spot, and also give you the ability to hide and remain undetected by guards.
If you need to replenish items and save, then do it in special places. Fortunately, they are located quite often, so do not neglect this opportunity.
Do not engage in battle with the guards - you are a defenseless woman. As soon as they discover you, they will finish you off with one blow. After death, you will be returned to the place where you last saved, but keep in mind that all items and their quantity are preserved, keys to the rooms too.

Use these mechanics wisely to complete the level. Now let's discuss the level walkthrough, because it’s big enough, you won’t have a map, so it will be difficult for a beginner to navigate and understand where to go.

After the tutorial, move left until you go down to the sewer level.

In the sewer level move right until you reach the room with 2 doors. Go to the RIGHT door.

Go right until you reach the sleeping guard with the key. Pick it and go back to the room with 2 doors again. Now enter the left door.

The doot from rith will be clothed and you need they key for it. But not the key you picked already, cause it will help you later. Now move left.

When you reach boxes that block your way. go upstairs and drop the chandelier on them to clear the way. Go back to this place and continue to move left until you reach another key room with sleeping guards.

Return back to the locked door and go right until you reach the room with the winch. Use it to open sewer door on the bottom floow under your location.

Go back to the room with 2 doors and open the door with the first key you picked. Go through the opened sewer door.

Now solve the riddle with a bag. Pull one of the three chains to fill the bag and fill it with oats to open the way. Aim at the white marker on the wheel.

Climb into the hatch and crawl to salvation, but I'm afraid that everything didn't work out as you planned...

⚔️ Outpost

This enemy can be found in the first outpost during Chapter IV. Looks like little armored man with a hammer.

⚔️ Shiny

The second outpost in Chapter IV is crystal mine, there you can meet this giant and kill him to unlock an achievement.

⚔️ Perfection

The last outpost in this Chapter keeps The Trainer as special enemy. Kill him to unlock an achievement.

⚔️ Are You Not Intertained?

The assault on the last fortification in Chapter IV will be difficult even for a fully upgraded hero and his army: there will be a lot of enemies and they will often fire at you with arrows and catapults from behind the fortifications.

The best option to break through the defenses is to build 3-4 fire catapults and fill the rest of the unit limit with shield warriors. Stand as close to the wall as possible and order your troops to raise their shields, hold on until your catapults destroy the enemy tower.

Use your bow to shoot the archers on the tower, they will greatly interfere with you. This plan sounds quite simple, but believe me, waves of opponents will constantly attack you.

]

This boss, despite his menacing appearance, is quite easy. He begins the fight on horseback. The horse dies after you reduce the HP bar by a third.

After this, you can safely engage in close combat with the boss, even shoot him with a bow and pelt him with fire. He does not deal very much damage with his attacks, and by this time your hero should have a high level of HP and a large supply of Meat and Mead to restore stamina and HP.

This boss can regenerate his health a little, so don't let him regenerate too much or the fight may drag on. Finish him off like the others and get your well-deserved achievement.

⚔️ Snap!

The first outpost in Chapter V belongs to the crocodile hunters. Their leader is a mighty warrior who wears a crocodile as a helmet. Kill him and the achievement is yours.

⚔️ For The King!

The very first knight will meet you at the second outpost of the Chapter V, but unlike other similar enemies, he is not the only one, other knights will meet you at the very end of the level. Kill the knight to unlock the achievement.

⚔️ Arrrrr

Chapter V the last outpost belongs to pirates, so just kill their captain and achievement unlocks for you.

⚔️ Not My King

This time, simply breaking through the walls and entering the city will not be enough. You will need to make your way through the city for some time, killing all the defenders on your way. It is here that you will meet several more knights.

However, you must eventually enter the royal castle and face the boss.

However, it turns out that Loki is behind all this and it was he who pretended to be a king in order to kidnap Raya. Your last battle is with the God of cunning and deception.

Loki is the first boss to actively use ranged attacks. His energy balls flies at you across the entire screen, and also knocks you off your feet and deals significant damage. Fortunately, Loki has one weakness - he has very little HP compared to other bosses.

Be careful not to get too close to him - otherwise he will release waves in different directions that will push you away and cause damage. If you don't waste time, you'll be able to deal with it quickly enough.

⚔️ Reborn

Immediately after you defeat Loki, don’t relax. He will send you to Nifelheim, the realm of death.

A most unpleasant surprise awaits you there, namely a meeting with Hela herself - the goddess of death. This will be another boss fight.

Fortunately for you, Hella also does not have too much HP, but her rapid attacks and huge area of damage leave you virtually no chance for close combat. You will have time to literally make one shot from a bow or throw a javelin at her and after that you need to roll.

She deals very strong damage, depending on the amount of your HP, she may need 3-5 hits to kill you, so do not miss hits at all costs.

From time to time, Hela will rise into the sky and from there will drop a rain of fireballs on you head, try to dodge them because in any case, it will be very unpleasant for your hero to catch at least one such fireball.

However, nothing is impossible and in the end, if you do everything right and follow my advices, then Hela, The Goddess of Death will also be defeated.

⚔️ Love Finds A Way

This achievement is awarded for completing the game, you will receive it almost immediately after defeating the Hela. Even still...TO BE CONTINUED!

⚔️ Born Leader / No Fear / Hold The Line / Not A Step Back / A True Viking / Valhalla Must Wait

I strongly recommend completing the story campaign first and only then starting Horde Mode. It's available from the very beginning, but the story campaign will help you understand all the existing mechanics, enemies and their advantages and disadvantages. This will come in handy on your way to the desired final 75th wave.

So, you also start from Mead Hall level 1. This mode has some differences from the campaign and they are worth mentioning.
  • The mode has 75 waves total, every fifth wave contains a boss.
  • You only have one base, so Mead Hall can be upgraded to level 4, which gives you 8 slots for buildings.
  • The timer for a new wave starts with the start of the attack of the previous one. The faster you kill your enemies, the more time you will have to prepare for a new attack.
  • During a wave, you cannot construct buildings, hire troops, make improvements, replenish supplies - everything is only between waves.
  • All units and improvements are made instantly.
  • Buildings with resources now have an upgrade in production speed.
  • 3 Runes drops at the end of each wave.
In order to reach wave 75 it will require about 2 hours of real gameplay. You can take breaks because... the game is saved the moment you exit to the main menu.

Here's what I can recommend:
— Always remember that this is a strategy and resources play the main role here. You will need them not only to create an army, but also to improve them, so for the first 10 waves you will have to replace your army and focus on building and improving resource buildings.

— My construction scheme looked like this:

Slot 4
Slot 3
Slot 2
Slot 1
Base
Slot 1
Slot 2
Slot 3
Slot 4
Woodcutter Hut
Fishing Hut
Woodcutter Hut
Fishing Hut
Mead Hall
Barracks
Archery Range
Shaman's Hut
Siege Workshop

— Invest resources in the production of fish and wood until you have enough for expensive improvements. Try to upgrade Mead Hall as early as possible to gain access to more buildings.

— Participate in battles with your hero and ALWAYS FOCUS THE CATAPULT FIRST. Roll to the enemy's rear, divert the catapults to yourself, and destroy them. Let your infantry and archers deal with the rest of the enemies and bosses. It is catapults, if ignored, can ruin all the fun very quickly, destroying all your infantry or gates in a couple of shots.

— The Power Shot perk is something! If you upgrade regular arrows and take other runes that enhance them, then you get an ability that can pierce a whole wave of enemies, killing weak soldiers. This saves a lot of time in the early stages of the game.

— Archers with fire arrows are a MUST HAVE. They can be improved with the range and attack speed, a group of archers can deal with siege weapons in a 2-3 shots, set infantry on fire, causing splash damage and instilling panic. Always have 20-25 archers and try to upgrade them first.

Improve the health of the infantry; I started using shamans only in the later stages of the game. Blacksmiths and siege weapons were of no use to me at all. If you do everything correctly, then by wave 30-35 there will be no obstacles or tangible difficulties for you in destroying enemies.

Even in the later stages of the game, your hero plays a very important role: instill chaos in the enemy’s ranks, divert the fire of catapults, push enemies in different directions, and so on. Just try to buy as much time as possible so that your archers shoot every last one.

I wish you good luck, I hope you find my advice useful and you get to the last level without any problems, just like me

P.S.
If you are afraid of mistakes that can ruin your run, deleting your progress and trying again from the start, then you can use a save scam. To do this, go to: C\YOURPCNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Pixel Chest Games\Sons of Valhalla\saves\ Copy your Horde mode save file to another folder. Return it to this folder if you lose or your progress is deleted. This method can make it easier for you to get the achievements, but remember that this is not the way of a True Viking! Do this only in extreme cases.
