Welcome to Reel's Insector Faction!

After spending thousands of hours playing RimWorld I've always longed for a faction that truly embraced the Insectoids. The Serketist structure and the Insectoid Supremacy meme from Vanilla Ideology Expanded - Memes and Structures fueled this desire even more. With the introduction of Vanilla Races Expanded - Insectors, we now have the xenotype we needed, but something still felt missing: true integration between Insectors and Insectoids.

Sure, I could’ve used a mod to force the Insector xenotype to generate within an existing faction, but what's the point of an insectoid-related faction without the Insectoids?

That’s where Reel's Insector Faction comes in! With this mod, your colony will face raids from both Insectors and Insectoids. Imagine a large Insector raid party supported by a pack of Spelopedes and Megaspiders. Plus, this mod offers seamless integration with Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids 2, meaning all the new bugs will join the fray as well.

You'll face combined raids featuring both Insectors and Insectoids, making for a more immersive and challenging threat. The mod also adds custom base generation, a new trader type, and a unique ideology culture, along with custom pawn names to enhance your RimWorld experience. Plus, it's fully compatible with Vanilla Ideology Expanded - Memes and Structures, ensuring everything fits seamlessly into your game.

So what are you waiting for? Will you befriend the Insectors and forge a powerful alliance? Or exterminate every last one of them? Remember, the only good bug is a dead bug!





  • Vanilla Ideology Expanded - Memes and Structures?
    Damn right it's compatible! The Insector tribe will prioritize the Serketist style/structure, and will also spawn with Insectoid Supremacy as a meme. This mod is fully integrated into the insectoid lifestyle!

  • Combat Extended?
    No idea. Let me know if it works or not. I don't play with Combat Extended.

  • VRE-Insector More Genelines?
    Should be compatible.

  • Medieval Overhaul?
    Maybe? I'm not sure how that mod affects the base Tribal faction.


  • Will this mod work without Biotech DLC?
    No, it requires Biotech's xenotype system to function.

  • Will this mod work without Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids 2?
    No, the mod is required for the custom structures to generate. I don't have any intentions of dropping it as a requirement.

  • Will the Insectors have different genelines?
    No, but if there's demand and a method for me to do it, I might consider it in the future.

  • Can I add it to an ongoing save?
    Yep! However, you will be unable to remove it afterwards.

  • Is this mod compatible with Combat Extended?
    I hope so. Please let me know whether it is or isn't!

  • These raids are extemely tough and overpowered!
    Send me feedback on what makes it overpowered, and I'll tweak the balance of the mod if needed.

  • Will this mod get updates with new content?
    I'd love to include more updates, but as a modder I am only limited to XML as well as my lacking wits.

Nvm. its the 'Insectoids - 2' that causes this. But still cant use this because that wont work.

This and the other required mods vanished some of the faction bases when choosing a starting area to the point that there was only like 1-3 bases for every faction. Any workarounds or is it just "vanilla" rimworld behaviour? for example do I need to disable some factions when creating the world or something?

this mod is great, i wonder why is this not in the official mod but hey looks great and wishing you great modding expierience when working on upcoming mods.

Hey there, for some reason I can only trade with the insector tribe faction on the world map and not with the vanilla ones. It feels weird to tell you this because this mod isn't directly bugged for me, but may be indirectly a part of the problem. The thing is, I'm pretty sure that if I remove it mid save I'm screwed. Is there a place qhere I could put my logs and get some help with this please?

这是虫族2(Vanilla Factions Expanded - Insectoids 2)和虫人+叙事(Vanilla Races Expanded - Insector)的拓展。作者认为应该有个虫人相关的派系所以做了这个mod。虫族2是养虫子打虫子boss的mod。虫人+叙事是加入了虫人和相关基因的mod和虫族2有很强的关联。另外等这个mod的汉化
