As a huge fan of medieval strategy games, K&C is a really good initiative and a ambitious project, because that is what it is as of now.
There are pros and cons, but lets admit that the game is actually fun at its stage, but lacks content right now

I applaude the devs for the game as I find it as a breath of fresh air in the singleplayer world.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DEVS FOR FUTURE UPDATES:
(hopefully you will read one day)

-Make the Map selection much much more interesting:
*choosing how long till the waves of vikings arrive
*make even bigger maps
*add random villages or AIs that are neutral like the witch
*add treasures or treasure events
*add EXPLORERS to explore empty caves
*add random events like : Tornados, Meteor strikes, Tsunamies,
*make the docks go on fishing expeditions
*add the possibility to have 1,2 or more enemies that settle on your land so you can battle them or ally to them.
*add Kings and Queens and social classes, from Nobles like Dukes to Knights and Vassals

-Make AI challenging and add a difficulty at least "VERY HARD"
By making them more difficulty means :
*More frequent waves and in end game make it almost impossible to survive like adding swarms of bosses and vikings with dragons
*add a Titan / Boss or something similar
*add dragons to Vikings at some point
*add Ladder for them to try climbing walls
*add gate smasher, add explosives for them
*divide the vikings in different squads : archer squads, cavalaries, soldiers, catapults etc.



FIXES ASAP : Make the Hero with his army attack properly, many times they wont attack and let the enemy pass or even they won't attack the vikings even if you right click on them.
RESOLVE: Add the army to gates or just auto attack when something is attacked, like when they burn a farm or a woodden wall.

- Make maps that are in different climates from only snow, to desert, temperate near ocean, temperate only with lakes, moutains
- Unique monsters to each map
- Add unique heroes, why not resolve to medieval
