While newer civilization games have been released like Civ 6 and Civ: Beyond Earth, this game remains the best of the franchise to date. This game is complete and its DLC's are meaningful and impactful or a major level. I have spent over 300 hours on this game and I'm not bored yet. There are so many creative scenarios and so many civilizations that the playtime could go on forever. The game never seems repetitive, especially when you go to higher difficulties. Every game is a new experience and the Modding community is there if you need something more. The newer Civ 6 and Civ: Beyond Earth honestly feel like a step back. This game is complete and there are few ways you can perfect it more. Even though it came out in 2010, It is still one of my favorite and most played games after 6 years. So easy to pickup and play with friends or online, yet still difficult enough that you have to always be ready for anything. This game has stood the test of time.
