Would definately recommend BUT only if you don't think of it as a Fallout game. Rather a post nuclear shooter. If this game was released as any other title it would get solid 10/10 reviews , however as a Fallout game it is pretty poor. Terrible RPG elements, a lack of character , almost no freedom to do what you want (you get forced to go down certain stories) and really boring factions makes this game quite dissapointing. I am 100 hours in, and im still waiting to be blown away. That says it all really.

At the moment fallout 4 just feels like a 3 part loop.

1) Clear an area
2) Pick up everything
3) Break it down to components and build settlements.

Thats basically it. There are some truly awesome quests, from a Chinese Submarine to a super mutant tower, but the core of the game is essentially "go there, clear out raiders/ghouls/super mutants, then come back and i'll give you 100 xp".

Coming off the back of Fallout New Vegas, quesrs have almost no branches. Your decisions dont really matter as you dont get choices. The dialogue options are limited to 4 , one being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, one being friendly, and a yes/no option. No intelligence funny liners, no barter checks or repair checks, no persuasion checks that actually matter, there is almost no actual RPG element here.

However with all of that being said, the game is still very much enjoyable. As a fallout game though? Not at all.
