As for the hardware, Arma III is a CPU based game, and sadly, it's not well optimized at all, because it is likely to use the full potential of the first 3 cores but let the remaining cores below 20%, so be sure to have a good CPU. A good graphics card and at least 8 GB of RAM is also highly recommended.

I hope this helps you, sorry for taking me so long, but this game has so many possibilities I just can't write it in a short text, I haven't even mentioned a 10% of Arma 3's features, my personal valoration on this game is a 9.5 out of 10, totally recommend it

It's mechanics are not that different from other FPS, though there are some of them, for example, there are actually 15 stances (each Standing, Crouched and Prone stances have 2 vertical modifications and 2 horizontal variations, instead of the typical 3, weight does affect how fast you can move and how long you last before getting tired, what can affect your speed, aim, and even your field of view (further objects don't disappear but get blurred) if you run for too long. And this are just some of the mechanics of Arma III, as I said, better check out some videos. It features both 1st and 3rd person view, most times you can decide what to use (I personally prefer 1st person view, since 3rd is quite like cheating, only use it for having a more peripherical POV when running through an open field, but is like cheating in urban scenarios because you can look around a corner or a wall without exposing yourself, what takes all the fun off) but that's your call.

As for the gameplay, well, I can't just describe how it feels to play this, cause it can change a lot depending on how you like to play, or if you are in a serious enviroment where everyone must fulfill their task and nothing more (it's almost fanatic, some groups seem like an actual army) or you can play in a way more similar to typical FPS like Battlefield if that much realism doesn't fit you. My recommendation is to check out some videos on YT about Arma III, cause it is too long to write all of it down here.

The location: Arma 3 plot takes place in the islands Altis and Stratis, which are the 2 maps that currently can be played, though Tanoa island map is going to be released not far from here. Stratis has a surface of 20 square km, mainly is formed by forests and mountains, while altis has a surface or 270 square km, and it's landscapes can be very different, from cities to forests, from plains to mountains...

You may be surprised that I include these on the list because you can think that they should already in the game, well, USA is in the game as part of OTAN, and Russia is inside a fictional faction called CSAT, cause I forgot to mention that this game is based on a close future (don't expect laser guns obviously, the plot is suposed to begin on year 2035, but the weapons used in the game do not actually exist as they are in the game, they're LITTLE modifications of actual weapons, for example, the main assault rifle for the OTAN is the MX 6.5mm, which is almost exactly the same as saying HK 416, and the main assault rifle for CSAT is the Katiba 6.5mm, which is almost exactly the same as saying KH2002)
