if you roll two sixes you trigger the sustained hits 2 ability, each 6 granting 2 extra hits for a total of 6 hits. Thanks to the stormsurge being S24 it will easily wound all targets in the game, and with an AP score of -6 nothing will be able to tank the shot unless they have an invulnerable save. Each successful wound results in 12 damage. If all 6 shots successfully wound and the opponent has no invulnerable saves, then their unit (spotted unit) takes 72 damage

Ok, that's cool and all, but did you know that if you play the Kauyon detachment in 10th edition and its battle round 3, it is possible to deal 72 damage in a single turn with a single stormsurge using its focused shot profile for its pulse blast cannon. Its unlikely yet possible. First you must ensure that the stormsurge and one other unit in your army that is eligible to shoot can see the same target, you then declare the visible enemy unit as the 'spotted' unit, you then choose the stormsurge as the 'guided' unit (giving it plus 1 to hit and sustained hits 2 since its battle round 3), and the other friendly unit as the 'observer' unit (gives the stormsurge guided).
