I thought for a moment if I should pretend to be a well-rounded musician with a general interest in the history of English music..... but instead I told him the shameful truth, that despite how important and significant Dunstable was for bringing English music from the late-medieval period into the renascence....that he has forever been immortalised in my head as a stupid joke purely because of his funny name hahahhhaha He laughed and appreciated how stupid the joke was hahahhahahaha

Did I tell you that I was talking to a professor who was an expert in medieval and renascence music, and I asked him about his current research topic and he was like "oh, it's just boring English composers that no one knows or cares about haha" and I was like "oh, so is Dunstable part of your research?". His face was visibly shocked and he said "....yes.... I'm very surprised that you've actually heard of him, most people haven't". Then he was like "How do you know about Dunstable? have you performed his works? pleeeease tell meeeee ".
