The most innovative take on the 4X Turn Based Strategy genre I have seen. It's familiar to Civilization but with family character elements from games like Crusader Kings, it's an event based, narrative driven game and while it has similarities to other titles it's an entirely unique game where every playthrough feels different.

Early Access Review
Terrible F2P model

The round about method of buying the full version of the game seems anti consumerist.

Very underrated game, the best dungeon crawler game out there I reckon. I was put off from buying it for a while due to the simplistic look of the game but it's a gem of a game.

There is plenty of depth to how the class setups, skills and weapons work, plenty of varying combinations you can come up with.

The audio and the original music soundtrack are excellent, really add to the lore and immersion of the game.

The game however has far too many convoluted puzzles and riddles mid game which are used repetitively throughout, there is the option of turning off riddles/puzzles though.

An incredibly repetitive and shallow gameplay experience with a nice cyberpunk aesthetic.

Maybe some people will enjoy this simplistic run and gun style of combat, but to me it felt like there was no depth to the combat, no depth to the character progression. If you have played the first couple of minutes of the game that's as good as it gets.

One of the most poorly optimized games I have ever played, Fireteam Elite was in a similar situation also but nowhere near this bad. It's full of bugs and broken achievements and is no longer supported by the lazy devs that made it.

Pay no mind to the negative reviews they are from angry, uncultured, frothing at the mouth Civilization players who are not accustomed to the sophisticated nuances of Humankind.

The game is a refreshing take on turn based strategy.

The combat is far better than any other 4x strategy out there.

Excellent underrated Stealth games. The main character is witty and funny, the level design is really good, allows you to approach missions in multiple ways. It's easily up there with the greats like Dishonored, Original Thief, Deus Ex, Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid.

My only critique is that the game builds you up to be this powerful master thief assassin, but by the time you get to that stage the game is over, there is not much in ways of replay value.

The world building is excellent, inspired by bizarre paranormal stories and the "SCP Foundation" it's also filled with Alan Wake references and even a DLC crossover dedicated to the Alan Wake world, the Remedy-verse becomes a reality.

I feel like the gameplay is still the weakest aspect of Remedy games, it's very casual friendly, given the option of various gun/ability combinations most players will simply resort to throwing objects at enemies because it does the most damage.

It's actually not bad for a 20 year old game. The low res terrain textures can be a bit jarring to look at, combat can be a bit stiff, it also suffers from certain areas of the game being bloated with too many enemies in order to lengthen the game I imagine.

It's pretty fun, it pokes fun at your stereotypical RPG heroes and stories, Bard going around causing more harm than good.

The game is one giant AD for Energizer batteries.

Still holds up quite well for a 13 year old game.

The combat leaves something to be desired, it's not very challenging and is more for cinematic effect a lot of the time. It is one of the few games that manages to pull off the whole light/dark thing quite well without it being a gimick.

It's worth playing for the story alone, at times it feels more like a movie than a game.
