The Universal Server Alliance aims to unify servers run by independent administrators all under one banner. For example, if someone running a Counter-Strike: Source server joined the Universal Server Alliance, that would be the recommended server for everyone in the Alliance.

The Universal Server Alliance also acts as the recruitment and server administration arm of the Universal Gaming Alliance, and all |UGA| servers are automatically members of the Universal Server Alliance.
