Hug a Gamer Day

''We've got days to wear towels, days to talk like pirates, but (according to a web search) this is the first planned Hug A Gamer day. So give your nearest geek a cuddle! They probably need it after all those pixels, but watch out for the CounterStrike reflexes.

The date of November 29th is the day upon which Pong was first released in 1972. Let us celebrate. Join in the hugs. We as a group simply want to give hugs world wide'' -Graham MacDougall

Gamers Unite!! Lets give hugs!

What is hug a gamer? What is this group all about?

This group is to promote the spirit of gaming and how gamers are everyday people. Not just the basement living geeks or nerd portrayed in the media.

You have gamers who are doctors, military members (such as my self), teachers, lawyers, tech heads, mechanics...
We are also here to show the world how gamers (hardcore gamers) can run normal lives while being gamers. Gamers have such things in there lives like having kids, being married, have a GF or BF and social lives.

Also id like to point out that the people in this group are not all guys! There are allot of female gamers out there too. And our group varies from the 13 year old n00bs to the 60+ L337 Gamer heads! You know who you are you Vic20 lovers out there.Gamers include but not limited to: PC gamers, consol gamers, LARP'ers, card gamers, borad games, table top, RPG, Portable, Figurines (warhammer...), text based RP games (dint forget you old timers using BB's) and any other way of gaming ^-^

Our 2 Mission
1) Our groups mission is to spread the love that gamers share with fellow gamers from all over the world.And since virtual hugs can only go so far we spread the love even more by not only holding event s world wide but also by giving the gift of gaming. That right we give out games to gamers from around the world. To date we have given out over 100 games to gamers from across the globe and with our new site we hope to be able to send even more ^-^. So spread the join of gaming and hug a geek. ^-^

2) Our second goal is to educate the world about the gaming mentality. Gamers live without boarders. We do not have religion, or imaginary lines seperating us from other gamers. We all know the world is doomed if there is a zombie outbreak or killer astroid so why not work together and team kill the other team. Hell next match the other team members are your teamate. Gamers are (as stated above) normal day working people. Not just the basement loving folks the media puts out.

NEW and IMPROVED Minecraft server!!!!

Minecraft Server Update!

Hey everyone!!! ^-^ SO I have some VERY exciting news for everyone. Our server has been MAJORLY upgraded. BUT The bad news is you have to do a couple downloads to be able to log in properly. On the plus side ALL of your buildings and what have you did NOT get reset. SO you can continue from where you where and keep building but with more tools.
So what exactly does this update mean for you the players? Well ALLOT!

Here is a quick breakdown of whats new:

- The Server now has a 1.7.10 Base

- QUEST! QUEST AND MORE QUESTS!!! We have a FULL quest system And so you are all put aware YOU CAN ACTUALLY WIN AT THIS SERVER. I dont think its going to happen especially not until we get a good bunch of people on the server cause it DOES REQUIRE teamwork to kill bosses and such.

- MANY Dungeon, caves, temples, houses, forts, wearhouses, towers, towns, villages, cities, beach houses, ports, cabins. . . . (you get the point)

- Better Rail system

- Magical Items, weapons and armour. . . I dont mean the regular stuff. You can actually FLY on a witches broom!!!

- New items, weapons, armour, blocks, minerals, Oil, water.....

- ACTUAL FREAKING BOATS!!! 2 different types actualy. Simple ship or cargo ship.

- OMFG cute new creatures!

- OMFG RUN AWAY Scary monsters! Including some that can kill an OP/Admin even in creative mode. And there all tinny. . . yes all of them are small . . . And not at all any creatures that are as big as FREAKING CASTLES AND BLOW STUFF UP AND REQUIRES GROUPS TO KILL!!!!

- More fish, flying creatures, Mechanics, Tech objects and many many many new features including a map of where you are.

- Improved server response time. AKA the game actually runs smoother.

This makes the required download Well worth the work!

OK The Hard but very simple part.

Here is what you ned to do in order to play:

1) Have a PC Minecraft account.

2) Make sure to RUN your regular minecraft in 1.7.10 atleast once before going to the next step.

2) Download the ATLauncher. and place it into its own NEW folder. http://www.atlauncher.com/downloads

3) Run the AT Launcher for the first time.

4) Go to profile and enter and save your credentials in the account tab. You dont need to save your password if you dont want to.

5) Go to the Pack tab and search for Madpack 2, Install the client side. THIS may take some time.

NOTE: Durign the install it may pop-up saying that it needs to send you to a website in order for you to add a jar to your mod folder in your .minecraft folder. DO IT!!! It is required to run.

6) Once the install is done Go to the instance Tab and click Play. WARNING! This phase may take some time! Its normal to have a minecraft type window open and look like its frozen, just keep your eye on the console movement. On a FAST system it may take up to 1 -4 min to launch the launch window, especially the first time.

7) Log into our server and Enjoy!
