The Earth's climate has changed many times during the planet's history, with events ranging from ice ages to long periods of warmth. Historically, natural factors such as volcanic eruptions, changes in the Earth's orbit, and the amount of energy released from the Sun have affected the Earth's climate. Beginning late in the 18th century, human activities associated with the Industrial Revolution have also changed the composition of the atmosphere and therefore very likely are influencing the Earth's climate.

El clima siempre ha variado, el problema del cambio climático es que en el último siglo el ritmo de estas variaciones se ha acelerado de manera anómala, a tal grado que afecta ya la vida planetaria . Al buscar la causa de esta aceleración, algunos científicos encontraron que existe una relación directa entre el calentamiento global o cambio climático y el aumento de las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero (GEI), provocado principalmente por las sociedades industrializadas.

There are an estimated 20,000 Polar Bears in the wild and they depend upon the arctic weather for their livelihood. Today, there are many accounts of Polar Bear, global warming deaths attributed to drowning. The Polar Bear is doomed if something isn’t done to reverse the dangers of global warming. Polar Bears depend upon the natural habitat of the Arctic, however global warming has contributed to the growing loss of Arctic Ice. In fact, polar bears have been photographed clinging to tiny ice formations as their natural environment simply melts away, leaving them at the mercy of a climate that they cannot survive in.



El calentamiento global, causado por el aumento del dióxido de carbono artificial, hace que el hielo de mar del Ártico se derrita en una proporción realmente alarmante. Durante las últimas tres décadas, más de un millón de millas cuadradas de hielo -un área del tamaño de Noruega, Dinamarca y Suecia juntos- ha desaparecido. Esta tendencia podría ser catastrófica para el oso polar. Sin protección, esta especie animal podría ser el primer mamífero en perder el 100% de su hábitat debido al calentamiento global.
