What is Borealis Gaming?

The community was originally founded after the closing of a previous community, Borealis Roleplay/BloodRunRP in mid-summer 2014. It has been known for two different successful runs of HL2RP along with other smaller projects.

HALF-LIFE 2 ROLEPLAY

We actively host a Half-Life 2 Beta Roleplay server. Our theme and goal of the server is to make a classical styled vanilla experience, rather than an overhauled custom style theme. We try to stick as close to the Half-Life 2 Leak lore as we possibly can with the resources available on it. We take further advantage of the map we use, which is an overhauled Industrial 17 map designed for a more Beta-esque environment. More explained below.
We actively encourage people -- and give the opportunity to -- be a character that contributes to the City. We want the City to be player based rather than totally dominated by the administration. As such, we give many chances for people to make their experience more interesting. All citizens are "employed" in the Labor Union, which is a contingent of the Ministry of Freedom. This means routine work cycles that are very important to the success of the city. On top of this every citizen has the opportunity to rise to own a shop or work at shops. We have four Ministries (inspired by George Orwell's 1984) called:
The Ministry of Freedom - Forced labor, manufacturing and shops.
The Ministry of Vigor - Health andration distribution.
The Ministry of Verity - Propaganda and (counter-)intelligence.
The Ministry of Accord - Conscription and offense against threats.
Each Ministry also has a position or division that can be worked in:
Minifree - Labor Union and the Econodivision (shops).
Minivig - The Hospital/Clinic and the Reproduction League.
Miniverit - Newspaper and the Truth Union.
Minicord - Conscripts and (somewhat) the Civil Protection.
We also have a unique MPF system that revolves around equality and simpleness over divisions and specialty. Units are required to have absolute perfection and success in the field lest they end up punished. They also must mantain a family that is affected by their success and failure. Each unit also may choose to specialize in certain fields if they are successful enough to earn it. Each unit has a designated position in a Protection Team (3 to 4 units). A PT is not a division, but does allow its members to work closely together and get to know each other. PT's do not have specialties either. The positions are: Rifleman, Grenadier, Shotgunner and Team Leader. The only high command is the rare Elite Protection Unit that is purely for training, assignment of Team Leaders and punishments.
