Subtitle Patch
Hi, at http://www.sierrahelp.com/Patches-Updates/Patches-Updates-Games/GK2SubtitlePatch.html there is an english subtitles patch. But it expects the sierra version, not the steam one and does not install. I guess the differences are to big. Just extracting and copy everything in the folder does not work. Any ideas?

very shame that year is 2016 and we have problems like this to face :(

English subtitles would be fantastic add ! and should be included in the game, absolutely !

1)Open the .exe wiith 7zip
2)Extract the Subpatch folder and put it on "\Gabriel Knight 2\GK2\" folder
3)Find the "RESOURCE.CFG" in GK2 folder, open with notepad or anything like that (maybe do a backup just in case)
4)Change "patchDir =\.PATCHES" to "patchDir = .\SUBPATCH;.\PATCHES"
5)Save, test
6)You should see subtitles now at the bottom of the game.

At least it worked for me.

hurray, it worked! Okay, I was not able to restore my old savegame (the game crashes), but thats okay, I just started, can do it again. With a new game, save and restore works! Thanks a lot.

Could somebody upload the extracted files somewhere? In my case it says that the game is not installed!

Thank you. I'll see if this works too with the Spanish subtitles patch which is similar to this one. iI fact, this English subtitles patch was "retranslated" upon that, which was based on the commercial Brazilian Portuguese release with subtitles.

Shame that when people tried to reimplement the pt-br files the game doesnt load (at least in the gog re-release) but playing in english with subtitles is not bad.

I found the instructions for the english subtitles in this thread and page on GoG, maybe they are more clear with helping:

I finally managed to extract the GK2subtitles.exe file and the patch works fine.

Thanks a lot Saikyo!

Do I need the \SAVE\ directory in the subpatch folder? it appears to have 2 different resource.cfg files inside it.

after extracting and adjusting the resource.cfg in the main game it no longer loads past the sierra screen.

If you have problems with the link, try to visit it without the initial "www.".

Has anyone been able to get the subtitles to work in SCUMMVM 2.0 at least?
Seems to only work with DOSBox sadly :S

With some games if you direct the launcher and add the a specific folder as 'Extra' it'll load the stuff in that folder when playing a game.
I tried assigning the SUBPATCH folder as 'Extra' but the subtitles don't load.

YESSS! Got it working on a Mac and Boxer by downloading the program onto a USB Hard Drive and copy to Boxer. I even got the Subtitles working too.
