Poor attempt at a mascot horror game.

Cons
- The levels appear to be very quickly thrown together (visually) without too much thought or care which is even more apparent in the second half.
- Foxes look a bit out of place. Less of a children's cartoon fox and more of a cutesy fursona.
- Story seemed incredibly cliche, especially for this particular sub genre of horror.

Pros
- The use of multi colored flashlights that work like UV lights was a fun and unique choice.
- I highly enjoyed the dark humor.

Although, I am a huge fan of this sub genre of horror I cant recommend this game. It just feels like someone ridding off the coat tales of the much more successful titles in this space and putting minimal effort in return, hoping for the same effects. As its free you don't lose anything from playing it but don't keep your hopes high unless you're incredibly easily pleased and don't care for quality or execution.

Mint's Hints is a short but very good stylized horror puzzle game and a pretty good mascot horror game that has a good amount of potential, alright the story. Mint's Hints was once upon a time a popular educational TV show entertaining children everywhere, until it got canceled due to the changes of its new show runner, now the old set lays abandoned and unused or does it? The original showrunner has somehow woken up on the old set, not knowing how they got here they must figure out a way to escape all the while the once colorful and friendly cast of characters now turned into twisted abominations hunt them down.

So the likes, the story is good it takes a lot of inspiration from Blue's Clues, even the one human character is essentially Blue's Clues Steve, but it all has a horror twist, it has a good mystery that sets up how the show got canceled with visual cues and character dialogue that you can piece together what happened but still leaving you with plenty to theorize.

The gameplay is pretty good and has an interesting idea basically you are given two flashlights that can reveal clues and invisible objects depending on which flashlight you use, it's actually an interesting concept and I hope it's utilized more in chapter 2. The puzzles are good pretty simple it's mostly find objects that are marked with Mint's paw print and putting the clues together, a lot like classic Blues Clues.

The graphics art style is good, nice and stylized with a good use of color and designs that actually feels a lot closer to original Blue's Clues, especially with the character designs. The levels are good it takes place in this Blue's Clues styled world that has some nice backgrounds that keeps it interesting with its simplistic and colorful style.

The characters are good basically there's simplistic in that Blue's Clues theme, but each one is quite interesting and has interesting designs and does a good job in hinting how messed up the show has became before it got canceled.

The monsters are good they have a good balance of being adorable yet creepy. The voice acting is good it has a nice cutesy wootsy kind of feel which can be good and off-putting when they say creepy stuff. The music is good it has nice tracks to listen too.

Now then is the game scary, not really it's more disturbing than scary although the chase sequence can be a bit intense.

So the dislikes, there is a bug in the game were I got stuck like no matter how many times I hit the arrow keys I couldn't move, but I was able to move again after hitting E and trying to talk to someone or interacting with an object. The game could also have a skip dialogue function because as I tried to explore outside I stepped on the character known as Matt and he talked to me and I couldn't skip the dialogue, also I feel like this game could have used some achievements.

Okay with that all done with Mint's Hints is a short but very good stylized horror puzzle game and a pretty good mascot horror game that has a good amount of potential, it has a good story, pretty good gameplay and good monsters, so I recommend this game since it's free and like I said it has potential and I really can't wait for chapter 2.
