I've had issues cutting through the targets sometimes with the katana and can't seem to cut through it at all with the wakizashi. [Assuming it's a wakizashi bue to paring but feels a little short to me?] I don't believe it's a 'swing harder' thing as that's not really part of the philosophy here and the blade kind of skips and gets stuck if I try to do so.
