Can sourceless damage be defined as any damage that doesnt come about as a result of a creatures trait, attack or spell? (i.e poison, damage reflection on the realm)

I've played this game a lot. And one thing I don't understand is why, sometimes, I'll go to a spell, click to cast it, and then I simply defend (the shield comes up), and the battle moves on. The battle log shows *nothing.* It's as if I didn't even take a manual turn. I'm not silenced. I'm not prevented from casting. But the spell just doesn't happen. This might be me missing one of the traits an enemy had, but I was doing my first few runs on the Gate of the Gods (super exciting but boy howdy, its hard) and everything was going well until I had to finish off a remaining Wasted Age trait monster (the thing thats immune to spells above 90%). Its usually never more than a hassle to my casting-focused builds cause I can build up status to punt it below 90% before finishing it off. Let's say, for example, that I want to target an ally with less than 10% HP for healing, but only if they don't have Blight. Is there a way to do this, other than listing each Ally # individually? Like, would there be a way to save the lines in the macro, instead of wasting 12+ lines for multiple conditionals to address each ally? Defiler doubles the effectiveness of the weak debuff therefore reducing outputed damage to zero when its on an enemy. I had it in such a way where using master of abominations I could maintain weak immediately and infinitely. Yet sometimes I would still check the history after taking damage and see an enemy declare an attack and have said attack damage me.
