What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As a lone developer, community feedback has been instrumental to the growth of Mortal Sin. I want to keep that communication open and continue improving the game leading up to a full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“My goal is to have a full release in 2025, but it should not stop anyone from enjoying Mortal Sin in its current state.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Since Early Access release, I have remade nearly every major aspect of the game to raise it to the highest quality level possible. This includes the art, enemies, core gameplay and just about every other system you can think of. I'm growing and learning as a developer thanks to your support, and I plan to make the 1.0 version the fullest execution of my vision.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“I would consider Mortal Sin's base game essentially complete. It can be played fully from beginning to end, and has additional bonus areas and content as well on top of that. There are several classes to choose from, multiple difficulty levels and powerful permanent unlocks to keep players coming back for more. That being said, I am in the processing of fleshing out the content and refining the core systems to make the best action roguelike possible.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price will be increased for the full release due to all the content added over the course of early access. Early Access players who are active in the Mortal Sin discord server have a chance to contribute feedback that will greatly affect development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I collect most of my feedback from the players who use my discord server. Anyone is welcome to join and have their voice be heard. I have a very good track record with this, and It's all about the player having a great experience at the end of the day!

“Really, it's a must-buy, even in early access, and I can't wait to see how it grows as development goes on.”

“It’s fast-paced, brutal, has an extremely unique art style that looks better in execution than it does in a YouTube video”

About This Game

Deep And Rewarding Melee Combat

Fluid melee combat is at the heart of this roguelike. Each hit of your weapon, fists and magic will cause devastating wounds to your opponents as limbs fly and blood splatters against the walls. Attacks can be instantly linked into each other for seamless, free-flowing gameplay.

Master all of the combos and special techniques to unlock your true potential!

Endless Replayability

Procedurally generated levels, loot and quests ensure no run is ever the same. Explore an alternate dimension with secret platforming challenges that will test your skills. Unlock special classes with unique playstyles, such as the spell slinging Mage, dexterous Monk, or giant sword wielding Berserker!

Most streams and videos (including the steam trailer), are highly compressed and lack the detail and clarity of playing in person. Watch in 4k to see the difference.

Key Features:

  • Brutal melee combat that's easy to pick up, but difficult to master

  • A varied roster of enemies that will react to your decisions intelligently

  • Hundreds of unique handcrafted rooms within procedurally generated levels

  • 6 alternate color palettes to choose from

  • Randomly generated quests with powerful rewards

  • Endless runs for infinite replayability

  • And more still to come!
