Since the TRON Legacy sequel was released, I've been seeing a lot of people checking out TRON 2.0 by doing Let's Play videos.  What amazes me, however, is how few seem to take the time to look for patches or updates to the game.  At least 2/3 of them play the game unpatched.

So I thought I'd upload a video to show how the game can look with updates applied, in 1080p resolution (1920x1080) and high anti-aliasing settings.  Be sure to watch the video in 1080p HD.  (Though the video compression reduces the quality slightly from what you actually see in-game.)

Check out the trailer for the Killer App Mod, which adds widescreen support for resolutions like 1080p and above.  Along with a lot of other improvements to the TRON 2.0 game.

NOTE: v1.2 of the Killer App Mod isn't available yet.  I'm currently working on it, and hope to have it done some time in the latter half of 2014.  The current version is v1.1.

Hardware used:
- AMD Phenom II 1100T X6 six-core CPU
- AMD Radeon 6870 GPU
- Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1 Sound Card

Note that previously I had an AMD Athlon X2 6400+ dual-core CPU and AMD Radeon 3870 GPU, and could still run TRON 2.0 in 1080p at 60 FPS.  Though the AA setting was lower than in this recording.

Software used:
Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate 64-bit
FRAPS: Full-size frames, 30 FPS
RadeonPro 1.1.0.6
Game Booster 3.1

Settings used (in RadeonPro GPU tuning application):
- 1920x1080
- VSync On
- 4x Supersample Anti-Aliasing (SSAA)
(Do not use Adaptive AA on Radeon cards, it causes visual glitches in TRON 2.0)
- 16x Anisotropic Filtering (AF)
- Texture Filtering Quality: Quality
(High Quality enables optimizations that slightly reduce quality in favor of performance)
- Mipmap Quality: High Quality
- Texture LOD: Default
- Triple Buffering: Forced On

Any higher settings than these is probably overkill; there is almost no visible benefit and it will only reduce the performance.  Those willing to try a FXAA injector should achieve nearly as good visuals with improved performance.
