Dragon Patch

Beskrivning
At high FPS the dragon's health regenerates so fast that it becomes hard to kill them.

With this patch they always regenerate at the same rate as they would at 60 FPS.

Can I use this in my Generous Magic mod?

Still not much difference (if any). Dragons still regen like crazy. It's not big issue since you can still kill them very easily with scrolls. But I hoped finally for some balanced meele fighting, but no... Dragons just fly away and regen most damage received before you can catch them, same way like without mod. Well then, back to spamming scrolls.

@Bc. Ithiridiel No, Gothic 1 was capped to 20 fps, but Gothic 2 has no cap. But in 2003 you wouldn't have a PC that can run the game at 300 fps.

@SALT No.

@Vashra If you limit fps in some way, it's not an issue.

I...I really don't understand, is this fixed in the gold classic? I don't recall the dragon regen being an issue but I have max fps set to 60 in the gothic.ini file.

Isn't the base game supposed to run at like 24 fps ? 60 is still pretty high regen, but at least its doable, unlike the 400+ fps regen that can happen.
DamianQ 21 feb, 2023 @ 17:37
at 60fps? so they still regenerate absurdly fast?

AH WTF! I just beat the game by abusing a bug with fear (maybe introduced by Union) which makes fear work on dragons and last forever (fear disables regen). I wish I had found this literally months ago. Thanks mate! This will help a lot if I ever do a second play through.
