Satsuma For 599 Mks
By Evan and 1 collaborators
Are you poor? No job? Spent all your money on beer? Want to build that old car but don't want to pay a lot of money? You can build the Satsuma for only 599 mks! It runs, drives, generally functions, and it gets the job done.

Step 1: Battery
A car needs 3 things to run properly. Fuel, spark and air. And where do you get spark? You get it from the spark plugs which are powered by electricity. You need a battery for this. Unfortunately, Teimo rips you off with nearly 500 Mks for his battery. Fortunately for you, there is the stock battery.

How to get a battery for free

This can only be done with a fresh save!

As soon as you spawn, run to the garage and put the black battery on the charger. You only have a couple of seconds to do this before the battery dies. If you did it fast enough, you should see the needle on the battery charger slowly moving to the left.
Step 2: Changing The Car
You're here to build the car on a budget. You're going to have to cut some corners, but it's doable.

Remember, you will only buy spark plugs, alternator belt, clutch fluid, and oil. You will have to remove things. You will have to make big sacrifices and plan every step of yours. This build is definitely not for the faint of heart.

It is recommended to strip the car, it fits the cheap vibe. Do it to your liking. Personally, I like to take it down to bare bones and gut the dash (radio, gauge) & keep the meters (for speedometer, choke, & light). I also recommend removing the: fenders, doors, hood, bumpers, exhaust/headers, handbrake/all brake lines, grille, tail lights, 1 of the head lights, passenger & back seats, inspection cover, & timing cover. Bootlid is recommended, as without it, you can't carry anything.

You will NOT need any form of brake lines, with the exception of the handbrake. The handbrake can operate without any brake lines or brake fluid, just tighten the 4 bolts & it will work perfectly fine. Don't bother putting in the rest of the brakes, as you won't have brake fluid. It's just wasted weight/space. Remember, less weight is basically quicker 0 - 60 times. You will have to be careful with slowing down. I personally don't have any problems with it. If you're a wimp, you CAN install the brake lines like normal, & use the rest of that brake/clutch fluid to (partially?) fill up either the rear or front brakes. But remember, you're here to go fast for cheap, not slow down.

You can remove the air filter as well. Removing it clogs the carburetor, & this will cause the gas pedal to occasionally get stuck. This, with the combination of 0 brakes, will certainly make the Satsuma more exciting.

Only set up 1 light bulb. Left light is preferred. This will not work if you remove the dashboard. Light bulb is optional & not included in this build.
You CAN have a radiator, but coolant is NOT included, & completely unnecessary. Personally, I just ignore it & keep the engine running without it. Less weight, and without the front grille & hood, the car runs fine. But if you want to have a radiator, install it like you normally would, but instead of filling it with coolant, fill it with pee. Whenever you're about to leave, drink tons of water (preferably from sink or faucet), and pee into the radiator.
Step 3: Items Required
So how do you spend your 599 Mks? You will only need to purchase 5 things.
  • 1x Clutch/brake fluid. 35 mks.
  • 1x Motor oil. 149 mks.
  • 1x Spark plug box. 99mks.
  • 1x Alternator Belt 295 mks.
  • ≈4L of gas. ≈21 Mks.
  • 4x Tires from Mansion. Free.
  • 1x Used Battery. Free.
That all adds up to a total of 599 mks. you have all the parts required to drive the Satsuma around. This would normally cost 2x as much, but you did it for less. And that still leaves plenty of money to spend on performance parts & beer. You have officially hit rock bottom.

Tips & Tricks
The car you have built is completely driveable & useable to an extent. The cut brakes are dangerous, cooling can be difficult, but you can still survive.
  • Big red light on dashboard? It doesn't go away? Avoid usage of electrical stuff like radio and lights as much as you can to maximise battery life as your alternator is on its way to die. You could alternatively use the portable radio and avoid driving the car at night. Your battery is not infinite anymore until you replace that alternator.

  • Keep stalling everytime you try to take off? Well we got you covered! Run an afr ratio in between 15.2 - 15.6 (Ingame values, not MSCE values) which also means white/transparent smoke.

  • Braking is hard when you have no brakes. Be careful & let the car coast on your way to a sharp turn where you would normally brake.

  • Use the handbrake to brake at a lower speed. Can also be used at higher speeds in emergencies.

  • If needed, you can use the clutch & downshift to slow down, but don't moneyshift it.

  • If you need to make a turn but can't brake, you can try & drive into a field & turn around there.

  • Try scraping against the side of the road to try & slow down in emergency.

  • Don't run too rich or you might overheat. Shouldn't be much of a problem without hood/grill.

  • Car overheating? No piss left to use? Pull the car to the side of the road and shut down the engine. Pop the hood open if you installed one and wait until the temperature falls.

  • Car overheating and you don't want to stop? Press the clutch and hold it until the temperatures fall back to safe levels. You could shift to neutral instead as well.

big tip: if you need to slow down and if you are going 60 kmh+ press the clutch shift the car into 1st gear. DO NOT let the clutch.
