"They are in order of year of release because I simply could never put some of these titles above each other. Enjoy! 1998 had 2 great games that I remember playing to death. (Edit…3 games. Whoops)"

Nice, glad I was able to convey the excitement of that memory! :P

It's great that you also played Jedi Academy, I don't think I'd met someone who had before, like Rogue Squadron I thought I was the only one who remembered it. I recently found out there's a sequel to that game which is available on Steam. I'll definitely be checking it out.

All this talk of Star Wars games has reminded me of another game I played as a child/teenager. I don't remember what it was called, but it was a short, pretty easy game that looked like an RPG maker game (top-down view, simple graphics, "cute" art style), and if memory serves there were 4-5 missions you could play; at least one of which was on Tattooine, and you had to fight Sand People to help the Jawas, and you even got to enter one of their sandcrawlers. I'd completely forgotten about that game until this week, I was wondering if you remembered playing that one.

I love Jedi Academy. Still have it on CD. Man, I might have to play that again too, haha. that kamikaze run on Hoth sounds badass. I was cheering right now just reading such a vivid memory you painted!

There really were some great Star Wars games in the late 90s to early 2000s, Starfighter, while clearly inferior to Rogue Squadron, was also enjoyable (and had space battles, unlike RS (no, the Death Star Trench Run level doesn't count). There was also Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, which remains a favorite of mine, and which I've played many times over the years. I also really enjoyed the first Knights of the Old Republic, but never got to finish it because of computer issues. Luckily it's now on Steam so I'll replay it eventually.

Duuuude! I thought I was the only one who remembered that game, that was my favorite game as a teenager. It's still responsible for one of my all-time greatest gaming moments: I had gotten gold on every level except the Battle of Hoth level, which required you to kill every single enemy within a very short time. I kept failing, but then during one run I was able to clear the whole level quickly, and soon only an enemy chicken-walker remained. I was on my last life, but I couldn't spare the time to approach it safely from behind, so I attacked it head-on, but it shot me down before I could kill it. But then the burning wreck of my ship continued its course and crashed into the walker, destroying it. A second later the gold medal appeared on the screen - I had matched the required time Ito the second . Me and my brothers - who were watching - all cheered, it was a great moment.

Goldenye was already posted. It came out in 1997. You are right, it made the list.

Am I wrong to predict that GoldenEye 007 will make an appearance? XD

Rogue Squadron. One of my all-time favorites.

Rogue Squadron – https://node2.projectplanet.cn/@store.steampowered.com/app/455910/STAR_WARS_Rogue_Squadron_3D/

This busted out onto the N64 and it was another one of these games we became obsessed with collecting all gold medals on all levels.
