This game is both laughably easy and painfully ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The Fromsoftware C team really just took a good game in dark souls 2, made it f*cking horrible and unbearable to play, and then released it at full price. You might be wondering what changed in this game when comparing it to the vanilla version of dark souls 2. Fromsoft changed enemy placement and enemy density in the worst way possible with the SOLE purpose of pissing off the player. You will find gank squads around every corner as well as ranged enemies clustered in the same room as melee enemies, So not only are you trying to avoid the ABSURD hitboxes of the melee enemies, you also have to dodge and weave ranged attacks. This was not an issue in vanilla. Fromsoft C tam specifically made this change to piss you off, and it shows. Not only that, for whatever reason, dark souls 2 is the ONLY souls game that doesnt provide you with invincibility frames when opening doors or pulling levers. This is how you can tell that fromsoft only cares about pissing off the player with this one. And DONT GET ME STARTED WITH THE BRANCHES OF YOR. Fromsoftware decided to place petrified statues in doorways and in front of levers, COMPLETELY BLOCKING progression unless you have an item that you will either NEVER find on the ground, or you will have to buy from a vendor for 10,000 souls. WHO THE F*CK DID THIS. I mean this sincerely: whoever came up with the idea to add this mechanic needs to be banned from game development forever.

All that to say, if you want to play Dark Souls 2. DO NOT PLAY SCHOLAR. You are WASTING your time playing a horrible game. when you could be playing a good game in dark souls 2 vanilla.

Do yourself a favor and play this game.

The game is too old to enjoy. I respect the game because I know its a classic. But the mechanics and unfair enemy placement in this game make it miserable and no fun whatsoever. I am aware that it is an old game, but that is its downfall. I can see how this game may have been fun when it was first released due to the era of gaming. There were no real reference points, so the flaws in this game went a little unnoticed. But they are there, and they are big. Unfair enemy placement, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hitboxes, and annoying ass boss runs ruin it. And before you tell me to "get good", all of the things I mentioned previously inflate the games difficulty artificially. They are not there to make the game "hard", they are just there to piss off the player. I can let these issues slide when it comes to the original release of the game, but not with the remastered version.

Aside from league of legends, this is the most unbalanced game you will ever play. Bungie is so blind to the fact that their player-versus-player system is so unbelievably horrendous that Hellen Keller would have better luck creating a PVP shooter. The PVE content is fun and all, which makes the game somewhat worthy of returning to, but the company is too stuck in the past and keeps bringing back old content. This game might as well have been a Destiny 1 DLC. The leveling system is a grind and a half yet the only group of players Bungie sets their sights on are the ones who have 2 hours a week to play. Bungie adds content pretty consistently but also leaves their dedicated playerbase high and dry. Its like if a man were to own a cat for 6 years, become the cats best friend, only for another random cat to show up at the front door, spend 5 minutes inside, soak up all the owners attention, then leave. That process is consistently repeated. If you are looking for a game to really dedicate your time to, destiny 2 may not be it. The rewards are worth it for about 4 weeks, but then Bungie practically hands all of the items you grinded and worked so hard for out for free to all the free to play and casual players. If that sounds appealing to you, destiny 2 is your game. If not, keep scrolling.

This game is fun. But at the same time it is one of the most tedious games i have ever played. This game used to be great, but somehow they botched it. The maps are too small, the SPRINT MOMENTUM is one of the worst features ever implemented, and the concept of different legends is just sloppy. Some legends are extremely overpowered and they have abilities that are GAME CHANGING. And they lock them behind a pay wall/play time wall. A battle royal should not have items or characters that alter the outcome of the game only accessible for those who either spend money or have the amount of game time needed to purchase them. Which is a lot, by the way. The maps are WAY too small. Once in a blue moon my team and i will fight a group and not get instantly third partied after. The loot spawns are TERRIBLE. You will drop and most times end up running through 5 whole buildings before you find a weapon. And usually before you find a gun youre whole team has already been shot and killed. Leaving you useless because you ran through 5 buildings trying to find a weapon. Sprint momentum is atrocious. Once you start sprinting you are basically locked at walking speed for 2 seconds before you actually start running. Its a cool concept, but NOT for a game like apex. The game is already a fantasy type battle royal. Adding a sprint momentum feature makes no sense. And lastly, THERE IS NO SOLO MODE. You wanna have fun by yourself? SORRY, NOPE. Respawn forces you to solo QUEUE into either duos or trios. So if you wanna play by yourself, you are forced to either 1v2 or 1v3. It makes it impossible for players to enjoy the game by themselves. Why they dont have a solo gamemode blows my mind. All in all, you could have the best aim in the world, it doesnt matter. Because all that goes out the window when a person drops an elevator to space every 15 seconds to gain instant high ground while maintaining 100 percent accuracy and then proceeds to gun you down from 100 feet in the air. It is abundantly clear that respawn does not play test their game before going live with updates. The game is in an AWFUL state right now and it is nowhere NEAR a friendly game to new players. Im hoping they change that for the better soon, but for now, do yourself a favor and go play something else.
