And here I thought that only books, and maybe a couple of movies could be emotional like this.
Well, maybe I should extend on games based on books.

First off, I must give you an important reminder before playing Metro Exodus.
For the love of god - do not - (under any circumstances!) play the English dub! It will utterly ruin the integrity of the experience for you. It is an absolute sin that they have decided to default to it - the sound actors try to pull off some stupidly unsuccessful, infuriatingly annoying Russian accent and without any kind of devotion for it- absolutely ruining any plausibility of this narrative-based game.

- It will take a minute of your time, and in turn save you a bunch of frustration- go to the settings and change speech language to Russian with subtitles. Won't cost you a thing, even if I seem to be over exaggerating the matter.

That out of the way,
Metro Exodus is a must-play if you have ever found yourself detaching your mind from reality, escaping to a fantasy realm. Maybe through a book, perhaps through shere imagination. I have, and that is why I absolutely loved the title.

What I am trying to imply, if narrative is something you like to go after, this is definitely a game for you. I really felt myself actually wandering in the wasteland, as Artyom.
Atmospherically the scenes are most believable, the ending (one of many, for which there are many possible outcomes for) was something that actually slightly affected me emotionally.

Graphics are exquisite- even now, while played on high end machinery, nearly state of the art -tier. Drawback being, you can't really approach the title with low-end, even some mid-end lineups expecting stunning visuals or even a somewhat smooth experience.

Soundtrack quality is also good, maybe something which you could expect on a game with a such budget.

Biggest con- occasional buggines and crashing. However nothing gamebreaking, as I could often go through a whole several-hour session without encountering a single bug or a crash.

Metro Exodus most definitely receives an "noticeably-bigger-than-average"- thumbs up from me, while although to avoid disappointment please check the title's hardware recommendations beforehand.

Amidst an apocalypse of endless snow that has left behind - and below - the world as we knew it. Under the iron grip of a ruthless, ever progressing frost, - coldness such that it shall penetrate your bones.

Has the time come for the perish of mankind?
If not that of mankind, then at least the survival of a settlement depends solely on you. To keep the settlement going, you must use your governing and micromanagement abilities all while keeping in mind, your mistakes will not be forgiven by the ruthless frost.
Still, though this unforgiving nature, you do not need to worry about having previous experience of the genre in question, as the title is just as good while enjoyed full-on roguelike.

Such is the setting that the title is based on, and trust me, while playing you will note that not a lot of imagination is required to see yourself in the shoes of this settlement leader, in the world described. Atmospherically, implementation is absolutely on point, the narrative gets through "visual novel grade", effortlessly.
I would state, atmosphere is clearly the one strongest positive aspect of Frostpunk that stands above everything else.

Graphically also nothing short of exquisitely beautiful. What I respected the most were the beautiful concept art drawings included in several prompts, to visualize the unfolding of varying events.
Optimized also rather well, playable on mid-end hardware while not suffering significant loss of visual look.
While I know this may be strongly a matter of opinion, the game being this movie-like it is perfectly playable under 60 frames per second, even capped at 30.

The heaviest negative, in my opinion though far outweighed by the positives: Frostpunk is rather short. The main campaign can easily be completed in under 10 hours, under 5 with a push. There exists content beyond the campaign, but such that may get a feeling of slight repetitiveness after a while.

Concluding, I most definitely recommend, even at full price, which is not something I usually would do.
The immense amount work and love people behind the scenes of Frostpunk have dedicated shines brightly as you notice how polished every aspect of it is.
