Normally I don't endorse games based on potential, but after following the development of this game for over a year, I can say this is a dedicate team with a clear goal: make the tank game I've wanted for years.

Here's the short version:
GHPC is a fantastic middle ground between the hardcore simulators that require hours of reading manuals just to learn controls, and arcade games that never feel like more than a glorified FPS. If you're frustrated by freemium PvP tank games but don't want the tedium of hardcore simulators all the time, this game is just right.

In short, GHPC gives you an in-depth but accessible representation of tank fire control systems, weapon systems, and armored tactics. The game models damage caused by each round fired as actual effects on systems and crew with considerations for armor composition, spall patterns and velocity, and the durability of components. The combat ranges from almost comically easy when you're an M1IP slapping T-55s around, to terrifyingly intense when your commander is begging you to fire a round that isn't even loaded yet because a T-72 has you lined up.

A huge selling point beyond the damage models are the crew voices. They're only for US vehicles right now, but the voice acting is incredible and like everything else, true to life. With their terror and loss of composure, the superb sound design of your tank's engine and weapons, and the dulled thud of rounds barely stopped by your armor, engagements feel authentically stressful.

The dev team has a clear mission and updates the game reguarly with both QOL and content. They don't over hype or promise and are responsive to questions and input. There is still a long road ahead for GHPC and for some that's a negative right now. But I'm confident the devs will continue the pattern of hard work and passion to ultimately deliver a truly incredible experience.

Overall, for what it is, this game is great. The mechanics are solid and the gameplay itself is enjoyable. The maps are well balanced, discounting Archipelago. My biggest complains would be the loss of slow-mo and score setting. Friendly fire also seems to be more of a problem for me. This aside, I highly recommend this game, I've been on board since beta 3 and the developer's responsiveness to constructive criticism and continued improvement of the game have been remarkable.
