IMO this is a best in slot co-op cooking game. it clearly has its inspiration but it becomes something new by changing how the "levels" work. Being able to plan out menu items, restaurant themes, floor plans, and furniture layouts makes PlateUp! a great test of group optimization strategies. The fun in this game is working out what the best decision is for your restaurant's success over the course of about one or two hours will be. Once you can repeatedly succeed from day to day, your team can franchise your current restaurant and the whole game becomes super challenging all over again. Steam remote play is a big plus because I can't imagine it would be fun to play with randoms, although you can earn progress when joining games.
*Controls are weird without customization, the steam integration is weird but it works fine, and I don't recommend playing without friends

Fantastic game. Deserves higher reviews than just 91% positive. So i leave positive review.

I've had this game since it was early access and didn't enjoy it much then. It was super cool but too buggy and didn't have enough late game content to keep me playing. Now it has way less bugs and a fantastic late game. I am seriously pleased with the direction the developers have taken with Astroneer and 100% recommend it. Maybe pick it up on sale with 2 or 3 friends and go 30+ hours into a save with them.

edit: came back to it almost a year later and it's still bad

Barotrauma is one of the best titles in my steam library. It's a great game with friends or randoms alike, and the developers of Barotrauma have occasionally released large updates over the time I have owned the game. From 2019 I have watched this game become exactly what I hoped it would be and I can't wait to see what else gets introduced.
