With our darkest hour having passed, and getting a much needed retraction to an incredibly bad decisions, we dive once more.

Early Access Review
Most of the mods I don’t really care, but I’ll change my review when an avi search bar becomes standard. World hopping for Avis is tedious and inconsistent. Will also change my review if mods meant to help disabilities are made standard in game. Otherwise this whole situation just seems dumb from both sides of the argument.

Note: easy fix to make everyone happy. Split servers into two groups, make a second client. People who want the extra protection can have it, those that don’t aren’t restricted. Problem solved, but what do I know I’m not a dev.

i am now at level 45 from over the past two days, and the game is meh at BEST. the price currently on it is nowhere near what it should be, buy only if on sale. the ai is basic and easily manipulatable, along with their un-dodge-able attacks. the multiplayer is SEVERALY disapointing. if you search for a room it will imidiatly tell you there are none, showing how few people actually use miltiplayer. they dont use multiplayer because its so LIMITED. there are set missions and you cant even matchmake properly so the CO-OP just ends up being with the bots. i actually did try hosting a match with one of my friends, as me with the host, and they were stuck in an infinite loading screen even after we beat the boss, then i was frozen in game aswell just after getting the "you won" message from the boss dying. i finally got sent back to the lobby when my friend closed the game TO GO PLAY SOMETHING ELSE. when i bought the game, i will be honest and say i didnt do much if any reasearch, i had expected to be able to atleast play normally with my squad of friends, not just my ai "friends". instead im stuck playing by myself because the multiplayer system doesnt even work. the weapon variety is limited and most guns look exactly the same, and in a lot of cases HAVE THE SAME NAME. i at one point had 5 diffrent rarity comet rocket launchers, with completly diffrent stats, but same name and same exact look. the enemy types are limited and rarely feel "special" unless they can one shot you, in which case they still arent special and are just a pain. the enemy curve from one area to another is only describable by my experience with it. while out in the solitary sands i faught and killed a group of level 14 scorpions or whatever they're called, just to have my entire squad get one shot by a level 74 observer, THAT ONLY USED ONE ATTACK TO GET ALL OF US AT ONCE. if more PROPER work was done to the game maybe i would recomend it, my main complaint being the multiplayer. i have not played and do not own, nor do i plan to own, any of the dlc. for all i know they may fix my complaints completly but i highly doubt it. i will admit this is one of few games i havent managed to bug or break yet. to any devs that see this, i would love to see this game worked on and in my mind "completed", because in my mind this game feels like an empty shell with so much potential that was completly missed.

This game is awsome to me mostly because of how you can add and change everything in game. from player models to maps to even little things like slight changes in the physics of the game. I also like it because it has one of the largest modding communities of all the games on steam(only issue is i dont do any modding of my own besides using other people's). the only thing i can think of that i would change is set it in the addon menu so that you can look at your vehicle mods or map mods specificly, so that instead of looking through all your mods for a specific map you just go to your maps (i say this because im the kind of gmod player who downloads a ton of mods but rarely uninstals anything). along with setting up a system so that you can put your mods into certain folders. it annoys me slightly when i have to enable everything then pick out specific mods to disalbe(so you could have a folder for server content along with have a folder of...you know what here just set it up like youtube did except dont set it on a course so that it spirals into the void slowly but surley. i hope you know what i mean if not....i dont know what to do.....) i probably dont know what im talking about but hey just a suggestion but im sure you guys working on the game wont even see this (besides why listen to a 14 year old idiot who just blows things up and manages to crash every game he plays...proof of witch, i managed to crash a xbox game the instant my friend handed me the remote and looked away for about 10 seconds....to be honest hit you im proud of it) if you guys do see this i hope you consider it and if you do......THANKS! (dont question my logic)

edit: I dont really feel like rewriting this from my 14 year old incoherent self. Hello to anyone that happens to see this incredibly old review. 21 now, and i still stand by a lot of what i said, but i feel the need to note that the devs did end up adding the mod menu functions I had said. By ABSOLUTELY no means am i saying i had anything to do with it. I'm sure it's a function people had wanted for a very long time. With that said i wanted to add this comment/edit to say there are mod menu folders/grouping and a search bar now making mod management far easier.

In the rare case any devs do see this, know that even after all this time I still keep coming back to this game. 400 hours as of the original review, 1800 now. This game has made up an incredible amount of my childhood and I will always appreciate the game and the devs for it.
