The fact that the bot problem has gone on for so long without Valve stepping in on is both amazing and disappointing.

Early Access Review
it's been seven days since Yuri found herself in the apocalypse.

She assured herself that going for a supply run in the dead of night was worth it— trying to stockpile all the goods that she assumed a zombie apocalypse would need. Soon after three or four houses, she picked all that she could carry.

Turning the corner of the dark road, she spots a horde. Her pack was too heavy and she was far too tired to outrun the dead. Quietly, she peeled into a nearby house and climbed through a window. It wasn't her safehouse but a roof was enough, she thought.

Briskly combing her shelter, she confirmed her safety and retreated to a small room that had just a bed and a window. Putting her bag down and pulling out a small book, she decided to pass the time and brush up on her skills.

Barely a few minutes passed and a dull thud echoed in the room. She froze as placed the book down and eyed the drawn curtains.

Then another thud, followed by the squeak of the window.

She gets up and peeled back the curtains to confirm her horror, only for it to shatter the glass, littering the floor with shards. It climbed over, crawling and scrambling towards her ankles.

Yuri quickly drew her slightly broken handaxe and brought it down swiftly onto its skull— taking multiple strikes due to its blunt blade. Before she could breathe, one more found its way in and soon another.

Now the door behind her was shaking in its hinges and she knew that she was surrounded— the dead was starting to claw its way through. Panic started to rise as she rushed the window, blindly hoping that she could just sprint through the horde but only to stumble backwards from the sheer tide of bodies behind the small opening.

Soon the tiny room was filled and the scream that lingered in her throat that she trained so hard to keep inside escaped through her lips. She flailed her axe hopelessly at the horde until she was brought to the ground, kicking and struggling. Yuri heard her own screams get drowned out by the moaning and groans— only to be followed by the sickening noise of her flesh be torn to shreds as her own blood muffled her tongue.

At the very least, her shambling body will hold more than enough supplies for the next survivor that crosses her path.

- My first run in Project Zomboid, absolutely heartbreaking for me. 9/10 though, would go for another run.
