Aliens: Dark Descent is a great game. Its not perfect mind you, but its awesome. Haven't finished yet, but i feel comfortable to say my opions.
First and foremost, the BAD STUFF. I played since launch and let me tell you, the game has its share of bugs from simple text descriptions going BOLD heavy smart gun BOLD and most recently in one data log there was "now" instead of "know" in the context of the sentence, all the way to aliens getting stuck at door they wanna break, mission objective not working properly when you activate it, first mission stuck at 98% completion even though i got everything finished and marines either getting stuck on objects or the process of opening a box keeps processing even though the marine is already doing something else freely (but it still prevents him from using abilities like grenades...) So, thats what mostly happened to me.

Now to GOOD stuff. The atmosphere is godlike. When its just and your squad and theres beeping closing in signals coming from everywhere, you can feel the dread coming up for real. The aliens are no pushovers and i would say both their AI and marines AI is sufficent. Its not mindblowing but the xenos did surprise me a bunch by doing something unpredictable. Especially the Praetorian. That ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is able to trap you in room where you're waiting for him. He knows you have nowhere to go and patiently waits untill he either gets reinforcments or you go out of the room. :3
The game uses a stress mechanic, although i would rather if it was improved a bit. My marines stressing the ♥♥♥♥ out after getting spotted by a facehugger, his egg, or one drone is ridiculous. They can get traumas and depresion too and you have to put them in a serene calm peacefull tranquility room to make them in tip top shape again. Not kidding. The sound is awesome too! Though it never feels quite bombastic like the end of the Aliens movie. You can customise your squad although its quite limited but still satisfying. Vasquez headband is missing :(
The story so far is... Well, predictable by Alien standards but still enjoyable i would say.
It is mostly a stealth game i think. Thats why i got so many hours cause most of the time i'm trying to snipe them all undetected. It mostly works if theres enough space. And if snipes won't work, lay down a mine. Theres no friendly fire and a pursuing patrol can get decimated withou being detected.

So far its everything i would have expected from such a game and untill it gets proper fixes for bugs, patches and maybe an expansion or DLC, its gonna be 7,5 / 10 for me.

This game is far from perfect
As of the date i'm writing this, it still has countless bugs and issues. But even through all of it you can still have a good time.
The story is good. Not breathtaking, but good. Keanu (Johny Silverhand) is with you through majority of the game. Sometimes he's anoying, sometimes he's funny, sometimes he's just your bro. But in the end, you kind of get used to him. It's not like you have any other choice till the end. :D
Opinion on other side characters is mixed. Some are endearing, have a personality. And when the expresions and animations actually work, they look great.
I still think that doing this game without cutscenes where you see your character from 3rd person view was a bad choice. During the ending is one cutscene with your character and it looks spectacular! It immediately reminds you of Witchers cutscenes! Btw, having a ♥♥♥♥ or vagina never really matters. The only difference is if you overall look female or male and sound female or male. And yeah, you never see your junk in actuall "action".
What about gameplay?
It has tons of sidequest and just a useless massive amount of buying cars quests... The actual story sidequests with side characters are good. Everything else you go on, just feels like a filler for you to get money and loot. The "respect" meter that you can grow just affects the items or augments you can buy and quests you get. None of the enemies actually care about that.
You can either shoot or fight in close range. Some guns have the right sound and look great and some sound like peashooters and look like it too. You can go stealthy way, sure. The game lends you silencers, takedowns and hacks for incapacitating the enemy. It always looked to me that the AI doesn't ever actually search for you when they discover a body or something. They just stand in the room, alerted, but don't do anything else. The game also lends you the option to not really kill your enemies and just incapacitate them. It looks really strange when you headshot someone with a sniper rifle or shotgun and they just fall like you just bonked them on the head with a hammer, It doesn't actually matter if you kill enemies or not. Game never punishes you or rewards you for it.
The augments are great! Having a double jump, blades for hands, a wrist missile launcher are all optional choices you can augment your body with. And each one can help you in your playstyle. But they can't actually help you getting through some locked doors or fences. A missed oportunity i'd say.
There's also a few factions you encounter through the city. I would appreciate to have a go or challenge every leader of every faction and become their boss or have your own gang... But i guess storywise, you don't really have a time for that.

In the end, i think Cyberpunk, will get better with patches, updates maybe even a dlc. But even though I can start now again with a different backstory, i don't think i will. Because it would be pointless and the ending i got is the best i could get. Different backstory won't affect it.

As of now, i give it the arbitrary review number 5/10. Give it a try if it's on discount or for free.

It's good for one playthrough but not really worth to play again, unless there would be a new game +.

PS: Fix the teleporting overpowered cops ai.

As a fan of mostly all the turn based XCOM games Firaxis made, I like this one as well. I can easily see it being played on tablets or good phones. If you like SWAT and turn based fighting with aliens WHILE using said aliens in battle with unique abilities, this is the game for you. Especially for the low low price of $10.
I can see this game is a low budget spinoff and not triple A master game but that isn't bad. It tests new things, never before seen in previous games.
The Breach mechanic at the start of every encounter is very actionlike and pretty big spectacle. However it is quite repetetive, every mision has 2-3 encounters with your Chimera SWAT team breaching in. The enviroment changes quite a bit and you can indeed try to just arrest everyone if you want to give yourself more of a challenge. (Spoiler: You can't arrest robots or mechs, duh)
There are lots of bugs in this game. It also crashed several times when enemy reinforcments were supposed to arrive. Also, one of your recruitable squadmates Claymore somehow loses his armor during the game and you can't equip it back. But I felt that most of this could be looked past, since it is a low budget game.
The campaign took me about 30 hours to complete. It was intriguing seeing what happened after XCOM 2 and that the aliens that once tryied to destroy us, live in fragile peace with us. Don't expect any animated cutscenes except the tutorial one. All the other cutscenes are comic storyboards. Seeing xcom play cops and robbers was enjoyable and i can even see maybe short animated series of it because of its original characters.
Even though i missed creating my own characters and customizing them to the fullest, already created characters here are wonderfull. From time to time you can hear their voice exchanges at HQ, which can be very enjoable sometimes. Only things you change about them is their equipment and tint of their armor. Their personalities and abilities are what makes them unique. I hope i can see them or getting mentioned in XCOM 3 which without much spoilers, this games ending hints at.
All in all, 7,5/10

This game is for every strategist thats tired of normal historic battles on our world with just humans and animals. Here you can fullfill every fantasy battle you wanted. Elves, dwarves, lizardmen, undead, giants, dragons, beastmen, ratpeople etc. All of this on a large battlefield where even one mage can turn the tide of battle. There's so much content, plotting against others, making your faction grow.
I love this game and can't wait for what comes next when 3 comes out!

This turn-based strategy game fullfills everyones dreams of making their own special tactics team, customize them to your liking and unleash them on aliens that occupied Earth.
Especially with mods (which are not necessary, but give you a great deal of additional customization and gameplay options), you can mix and match heroes and soldiers from different games (Halo, Overwatch, Mass Effect, Star Wars etc.) and make them fight the ADVENT menace. Game still too easy or you made it somehow easy with other mods? Make it harder with another mod that brings in more enemys and enemy types to ruin your day! Make your day easier by bringing in a huge military TANK with another mod!
Point is, the game in intself is awesome, even without the mods, it can give you one heck of a challenge and you'll have a lot of fun... BUT... With mods created by countless wholesome fans, you can make your experience and fantasy go wild and make this awesome game into something even greater. Countless skirmishes and close calls. Battles with unpredictable events. Fights and tough bosses in DLCes (which I recommend to buy as well with the full game!).. 95% HIT chance probability that CAN resolve in a MISSED shot!

Give this game a chance and see for yourself.

PS: I wholeheartedly LOVE this game and the game before it and demand the ultimate sequel!!!
