Pros:
The game is great in terms of visual and audio quality AND it runs phenomenal compared to todays standard.
The story is picked up where it left off and there are some great characters introduced.

Cons (Spoiler-y):

Chapter 14 and 15 throw the entire game out of the window for an epic ending.
And she is gonna spend all her life looking for something she will not find which is disappointing and tragic.

short answer:
id say the game is worth a pick up because it's a very unique and mostly pleasant experience even at full price and a definite no brainer to buy on sale 100%. due to audio, visuals and combat. strong and long combo bases are what makes it really satisfying with a variety of choices when it comes to throwing your enemies around the entire floor. the many characters are all very unique from one another and offer a great change of pace for the first 10ish hours i would say.
i didnt play for the story so i cant judge on that but its not the games focus and thats noticable.

long answer:
I love the game but since 1.0 it seems too easy. almost auto piloting through entire runs with additional "curses" that additionally strap you from any choices you want to make further enforcing auto piloting gameplay. the game is not hard, the bosses are tough but once you know what they do they're not that hard anymore, pretty much like dark souls in that aspect. the run choices are cool but are also not really changing the playstyle with some exceptions.

the bosses sadly are also not that tight on the hitboxes making it rather unfun to try to minmax bossfights except for dashing through every attack they have with iframes.

the combat itself is great, the graphics are awesome and the music is nice. overall the 1.0 update brought a lot of changes to the table which did clean up the game a lot compared to the early access but you're still gonna be done after like 10 runs and with choices that dont really feel too different from one another the replayability comes down to whether or not you enjoy the core gameplay with the great diverse roster of characters.

the additional combos are also a nice call back to the fighting game series though i found many moves to not be practical in combat which makes them redundant sadly but there are some cool combos to be found and perhaps I will change my stance on this if I decide to keep improving in the combo area of the game to further min max runs and master the movement in addition.

i hope the game keeps improving with more variety to come but only time will tell.

again, a great great game with a lot of fun to be had, great combat, movement, audio and visuals, diverse bosses and characters to play as. 8/10

It's fun with friends, works well and is a great upgrade to the second game.

It works now, looks great, plays well, runs great and is fun with friends. Solid recommend even though they messed up the launch.

dont bite your way through its not worth it.
