Final Fantasy VII graphic style, Silent Hill music, cute and charming character designs, and a sense of humour...it is a mix it shouldnt work, yet, it does, and in a fantastic way.
Some decent combat and great and clever puzzles make this a must play experience for fans of survival horror and/or PS1 fans.
It is overrated? a bit, it has some issues, and unexplainable long loading times (which developers stated they are going to fix), still, totally worth the asking price, just...dont expect the Second Coming, like some of the reviews are claiming this game to be.

I'm a simple man; I hear a RE4 reference, I buy it.
Jokes aside, this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing...plus, the RE4 references.

edit: after finishing the game, I still think its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing, but unless you are planning on beating it several times, and playing it until you master it...you should wait for a sale, the game itself is really short.

edit 2: well, the game eventually "clicked" with me, and now, I beat it several times because I'm freaking addicted to it, it might be the most "games that I suck at but cant stop playing them" I played in years...so I feel confident to say that it is worth full price.

Same as with MGS2, laziest port imaginable from the HD collection released on consoles in 2012...there is a difference though; unlike MGS1 and MGS2, MGS3 was NEVER released on PC.
And I know emulation is a thing, and you can make it look and run better that way than here, but you need a decent rig for that, and get the game in not...the most legitimate of the ways.
If you want to LEGALLY own this game, and also finally playing a proper PC version, this is the way, just as with the other two games, it might not be the best way, but it is the most convenient...plus, mods, there is already a pretty stable mod to crounch walk, which is something fans begged for for close to 20 years, and was only present in the 3DS version.

And we are not talking about any game here, this is one of the best games ever made, and PC players waited almost two decades to get their hands on.
If you dont plan to buy the entire collection because you already have the original PC versions of MGS1 and MGS2, that excuse doesnt apply here, $20 bucks for this masterpiece its a steal.

Lets not kid ourselves, nobody who owns this paid for it, it was a nice bonus they threw in for buying the Solid trilogy...it is kinda worth it, though, it has the screenplays for both games, the master books, and while Metal Gear is unplayable in 2023, Metal Gear 2 might be worth checking if you are a fan, its basically MGS1 in 2D.

Just as with MGS1, laziest possible release; locked at 720p, zero (ZERO) graphical options, you have to tap alt+F4 to quit the game, and they didnt even bother to remove the "HD Collection" from the title or loading screens...and, again, just as with MGS1, there are already ways to play a better version of this game on PC with fan mods applied on the 2003 PC release...
Having said all that, this is the most convenient way to play this masterpiece on PC in 2023; you buy it, you download it, and you play it, that's it, no emulation, or having to deal with patches on a 20 years old release there is no way you can get in a legitimately way.
If you dont have the patience to deal with emulation/mods, you want to own this game legitemately, and you dont mind being locked at 720p (even as lazy as Konami is, I still think they are fixing that), get this on a sale, it is worth it, as I said, it is the most convenient way to play it on PC in 2023, plus, it has a few cool extras in it...just dont pay full price for it.

I really liked the first game, but never finished it, the plataforming sections were close to imposible because spikes were instant kills...they fixed that in the sequel.
The difficulty is also more forgiving, and while still a really demanding game, is not as demanding as the first one.
If you loved the first one, this is a no-brainer, if you liked the first one, but it was too much for you, you will love this one, however, even if more forgiving, still a challenge, so is not for everybody.

And of course, play it with spanish voices.

I know we got this for free for buying the entire collection, but two bad non-canonical NES games, two non-canonical graphic novels, and a few MP3s files, just arent worthy your time, and space in your library.

While this is the laziest emulation possible, the game works, it has some great bonus material, the legendary spanish dub, and we can finally play Integral in a legitimate way...there is also the cute detail of being able to create a memory card with some Konami save files in it...this makes the whole package "acceptable", but again, we are talking about the laziest emulation possible, there is some inexcusable loading times in this game, those werent present even in the PS1 version released 25 years ago, let alone in emulators just a couple of years later, having these loading times and some audio issues is plain ridiculous.
Btw, if this is your first time, beware, this game is HARD.

edit: "2GB daily update" simulator...did I mention the updates are for the game to run worse?
