Great idle game. It took ~2 months to get through the current content, but overall the flow of the progression was excellent.

A great idle game. Afterlife somewhat broke balance a bit, but that was somewhat remedied.

The overall game is a solid f2p experience. There is no other idle games that are similar in scope and content. There are plenty of updates.

Regarding the recent pet companion system and the surrounding drama. It's a small part of the game. Could it have been implemented better, yes. Does it ruin the core experience for some, yes. It's up to you how you on whether it is a deal breaker or not.

Overall, I would recommend Subnautica: Below Zero (I'd prefer to give it a mixed review if it existed) . The gameplay is enjoyable and story is alright. However, it has some serious flaws that make it stand far below the original.

The main issue is that there are two main story lines that have absolutely no chemistry with each other. For my playthrough, I completely finished the first story line (part of the rewrite), then aimlessly wandered around completely confused until I used the wiki to find the second story line. Overall, there was a notification for where this storyline was supposed to begin, but these notifications as I experienced them were often buggy and not clear. This combined with some convoluted level design made finding some areas a chore. As an aside, there is also another character who is tac'd on who really adds nothing to the story besides existing...

As for my final gripe, the progression in this game can be really bonkers. Wrecks and scannables often seem thrown in just because. I found myself many a times being lost in the progression of this game because the progression didn't flow well. Furthering that last point, that is basically the issue with this game. Things do not flow well together as one cohesive gameplay experience.

If you buy this game:
- Explore a ton (check every nook and cranny everywhere... It's necessary...)
- Place plenty of beacons.
- Be very careful about overlapping notifications and voice comms. You can miss some important things.

This is my favorite game of all time. It's the perfect mix of fps and RTS with just the right amount of complexity to create a variety of play styles. I'll admit there are some toxic communities out there, but there are so many great people who play this game and are willing to help/encourage newer players.

One of the best, most addicting games out there! Additionally, this game has some of the best developers I have ever seen.

This game is worth every penny spent on it. It's addictive, difficult, and interesting. It's a game that'll have you playing for hours on end. Besides that, the developer is active and engaged with his community. This fact is worth it's own merit since most games nowadays have beyond ♥♥♥♥♥♥ developers who lack any care for their community. Overall, this game is great as it is and it has for more potential being added every day.

Edit: Some people are commenting about a virus link within the help pages via. a mislink to a youtube video. They are saying the developer doesn't care enough to fix it, etc. Currently the developer has a fix releasing in the next patch releasing in a few days. The reason he can't release a hotfix is he simply doesn't have enough manpower to update four platforms running different versions easily and release the new patch on time. The developer also adressed this issue and replied to the thread talking about what he's doing. Some people simply can't think and start blaming a developer for "having a horrible attitude", when they see a small issue not being fixed quickly enough (it's been less than a week...). Just keep stuff like that in mind when planning to buy the game. It's worth it if you're into factory, progress oriented gameplay. Don't let rash people change your mind.
