Ghost of Tsushima delivers an awe-inspiring experience, blending breathtaking visuals with a rich, immersive open world. From the moment Jin Sakai leans from his horse and brushes his hand through the swaying grass, the game's captivating atmosphere draws the player in completely. The world design is nothing less than exceptional, encouraging players to lose themselves in its expansive beauty. Whether navigating peaceful forests or ravaged battlefields, the sense of discovery is ever-present, with intricate details and dynamic events seamlessly emerging as you explore.

The narrative is equally compelling, driven by an intriguing plot and memorable characters. Jin Sakai stands out as an exceptional protagonist, embodying both the conflict and spirit of the samurai in a story that is as emotional as it is epic.

While some of the side missions, such as tracking footprints or clearing Mongol camps, can feel repetitive over time, the overall gameplay remains highly engaging. The satisfaction of exploration, combined with diverse tasks and hidden secrets, keeps the experience fresh even after many hours.

One of the game's most remarkable achievements is its combat system. The fluidity and precision of the mechanics make every encounter feel like a genuine samurai duel. The tight controls, enhanced by the stunning sound design, create a visceral, immersive experience that is among the best in the genre. Every sword clash and parry is expertly choreographed, making the player feel the weight and grace of each strike.

In comparison to similar titles like Assassin's Creed, Ghost of Tsushima sets a new standard. Its deep, multifaceted gameplay and polish put it leagues ahead, leaving others in the genre feeling shallow by comparison.

With its unparalleled visuals, captivating story, and superb combat, Ghost of Tsushima stands as a masterclass in open-world design. It is, without question, my favourite game in this genre.

Can’t wait for the complete game! But until then, it needs a little work..

The graphics, environment and overall visuals are beautiful. Not to be talking about the theme, which I find very interesting as well! To be stranded on this mysterious island gives me similar vibes as when I was watching the old series LOST. I love the exploring part. Finding clues, old photos, emails, lore, tribes, or old bunkers with labs. It makes me want to know more. I just hope they will be able to tie together and add more to this abstract and mysterious story. I find it interesting but a little flat and hard to grasp fully.

I would like a little more clues of the story, locations and something to point me in the right direction rather than the green markers for the bunkers with keycards. Id much rather pick up clues leading me there than a marker on the GPS locator. That would automatically give me some motivation to a few more hours exploring the island instead of than just a running sim from one green marker to another.

It would also be great if you had a notebook or even a manual map of the island to make notes and markers of stuff to remember, locations to visit later etc. The gps trackers you can find and put on a location feels a bit unnecessary when having that high tec gps where you could just save the coordinates or make a simple marker/note.

Also, I would like the building part to be more rewarding and have a clearer goal to it. Don’t take me wrong, I love just building a base freely for the sake of it. And the building mechanics, chopping wood and all are great, truly great! I just want it to be a bigger part of the game, not just a cool “side mechanic”. After spending a few hours on a base with a wall of sharpened logs I can’t help thinking to myself “it’s sad this is all for nothing” - meaning I rarely get attacked by anything difficult to handle, I really don’t need to stock a bunch of stuff to survive, and a stick bed in the snow or a simple tarp tent work just as good. So, there is no point for me returning to this base a lot.

Last but not least, the inventory. This must be the most creative way ever to implement a character inventory and it looks great. It’s just that it is a little slow navigating in when you have to “look around”. I wish you could have the full inventory zoomed out and bind the most common tools to a button as its quite awkward taking up the inventory or “quick backpack” when getting attacked or swapping between gear fast.

PROS
- Beautiful world, environment, and graphics. Even on lower settings.
- Probably one of the best building mechanics I have ever experienced in a game like this.
- Creative and awesome looking inventory.
- Interesting story although I would like to know more of it.
- Cool and creepy looking creatures!
- Virginia

FEATURES TO ADD/DEVELOP FURTHER
- Add more clues, lore and info about the story, lore of the island and especially info/clues to find tools that you need to go further into the story. So youo don't automatically turn to google..
- Make the building part take a bigger role in the game, not just a cool side mechanic. That would be a waste of a masterpiece!
- Better use of the gps/map. Could be coordinates, markers, notes or finding a compass.
- Easier to use inventory.
o Be able to bind your most common tools to a few buttons
o See the full inventory without “looking around in it/edge pan”.
- Bring back the log-sled!

With that said, I know the game is an alpha, and I’m sure the devs already thought of most of this stuff. Hopefully we get a nice update soon, even if i think this needs some serious work to be truly great.

Pre Ordered this game and this is totally the biggest disappointment of all games I've ever played. I felt like a beta tester that got robbed of 89.99€

I have given the game an honest chance by playing after all major patches and bug fixes. Spent almost 60 hours but unfortunately It doesn't change anything.

It's a shame a game I was looking forward to so much ruined the whole franchise to me.

The name "Battlefield" in the gaming world will never be the same again.

A beautiful game that feels mediocre or even half done. The overall theme was cool and the story was interesting even if i would have hoped for at least 10h more gameplay to the main story.
10h into the game my "saved file" is corrupted somehow and i cannot load it... I start a new session and complete the game in about 12h.

I usually play like an "explorer" that put a lot of extra hours in to side missions and farming loot but the lack of customization of the character with gears and all didn´t make me very interested in picking up every small side thing. I also feel after watching some YouTube that there are way to many weapons that doesn´t "bring anything to the table", they are just there for some reason. So the balance between all these diffrent weapons and the lack of custimization of the character + the arena matches where you have to be 50+ to beat S-tire to actually get new costumes that you payed for to get in the DLC makes me not wanting to recommend this game for an RPG loving friend. Especially when you complete the game at lvl 25-30 and will never actually see those costumes that you payed for...

The colors could have been a little more saturated in my opinion, if felt pretty grey and blurry even in the forest areas. The game lacks graphic options. So i guess the port from console was mostly mediocre. I have a pretty good computer with an i9, 2080 and 32gb RAM, so running this in 50-60 fps and watching the cinematics in 30 fps felt really bad optimized. Same thing with the "ported" controls... I mean "double tap" to dodge or sprint have to be the worst possible "user experience firendly" thing i have tried out.

I don´t want to sound to negative, beacuse i actually liked both the gameplay and the story. Just that the cons were to many and the game felt like it was not completed developing yet. This game would need some more love from the dev team to make it a better user experience.

Totally one of the best games that i have ever played.

There is so much content. At firts it´s a bit overwhelming, and it´s hard to grasp your head around but give it a few hours and don´t be afraid to ask questions in the region chat. People will help you.

The community is just great. I don´t think i have ever experienced such a welcoming and supporting community in any other game.

And YES, It´s a free to play game but it´s not a pay to win game. You can pay for a few skins and to boost the building time of parts you are building but thats pretty much it. On the other hand, you can also sell the parts you are getting to other players which means you can get the skins and boost the building time without spending a single dollar if you are willing to put the time in.

I would recommend anyone to try this game out!
Cheers :)

Great game!

As I am a big Bioshock fan this game really held the bar high and kept similar standards!

* Cool story.
* Nice gameplay and a smooth feeling of it´s mechanics.
* Art style 10/10!

I would definitely recommend this game!
