The game devs allow you to disable mobs, and override some BAD design/balance decisions when creating a new map. Great to play with friends on a private server, or even solo. Wouldn't recommend playing on public servers ever.

Here are some dinos to disable right away:

Pegomastax - steals items, can't be recovered ever
Ichthyornis - steals items, can't be recovered ever
Leedsichthys -- aggros boats and intentionally clips through structures (behavior can be disabled through Moby-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mod)
