Interesting and engaging build and develop game. PvE - play at your own pace and enjoy the game. PvP - hang on for a crazy ride - very tough!!!

Fun. Fun. Fun.

Someone basically listened to our D&D games and put in place our actual gaming dialogue!!!

Authentic, hard core squad based gameplay. Make sure you find a server with a good community (there are lots of them) and stay in a squad and you will really enjoy this game.

Playing the game as a squad member is easy. But there is a steep learning curve for some of the deeper parts of squad leadership, but the tutorial is much better now with the latest release. Also, many servers have dedicated teams constantly training new people.

Highly recommended!

Fun easy to jump into game. Like many of this genre, tier 1 is fun and easy to play. Beautiful graphics. Plus, you get to play Ork pirates. That's right, Ork Pirates!!!! Come on, does it get any better?!?!?!?

Full disclosure: I do not have experience with the advanced tiers, so no idea how well the game scales up.

If you like good turn based games with a fantasy theme, then this is a great choice. Quite simply one of the most fun games I accidentally discovered. I did not know this was out there and I absolutely love the game. You can think carefully between turns. It’s hard-core in that you can only have your current save and when your heroes lose they lose. However, there a lots of nice ways to prevent that – from lives you get to use up and statues that you can dedicate your hero to that not only give you a nice buff but also give you a free save from death.

The game shines in the careful planning you can undertake and the good variety of monsters on the maps and the loot they sometimes drop. The game has good controls over the difficulty. If you find the costs are going up too quickly, reduce the rate inflation. If you prefer to play a little more slowly, increase the time before scourges or chaos shows up. Finding it too hard, give yourself more lives to start with.

Important starter tip: You can use the “,” and “.” keys to change your target – great for deeper strategy.

I enjoyed it and highly recommend it. You will know within the first hour if you like the game, so it’s an easy title to try.

A really nice part of the game is that you unlock Lore as you play. This allows you to unlock features of the game for future play through. I died the first two times but did not mind this as it allowed me to unlock the herbalist class and a bunch of items. It was great to then see those items starting to randomly show up in the game.

For me, a great game. I hope you enjoy it too!

Early Access Review
“The mutant bears his heresy on the outside, the traitor hides it in his soul.” Inquisitor Rank 5

“A hundred thousand worlds, ten hundred thousand wars. There is no respite, there is nowhere to hide. Across the galaxy there is only war.”

As we walked down the pathway a shudder of fear ran shock down the path. The Imperial Guardsman’s heavy bolter spat rounds into the cultists. The Children of the Emperor were here. It was critical that Fleet Command know of this development, Ragna van Wynter needed to hear this but until the vox jammer was found the secrets of the enemy would remain hidden. Brother Augustus slashed at the Chaos Space Marine with his Force Axe. The traitor marine slammed the Inquisitor into the bowl of the circulating vents. The ceramite gauntlets smashing into the Crusader’s armour. A jagged gauntlet spike rammed into the Crusader’s shoulder causing the Brother to stagger back even further. Thorn had only a moment to raise his force rod and lance a raw warp spike into the giant to give the Death Cult Inquisitor the moment she need to shatter the eternal enemy’s champion with a carefully aimed longlas bolt into the traitors helmet, sending him back to the warp. August stood, keyed his Inoculator to regain health and staunch the bleeding; then he grimly advanced.

45 seconds since teleporting in and that had only been the first room…

Great game for fans of the genre. Well done using all the best techniques for random map generation, good story, careful character advancement, and a wide variety of play styles. I love the idea of shared account experience that gives my second character a reasonable benefit from the efforts of my first, and then even more for my third character from the efforts of my second.

Play at least three different characters through to level 5 (about 6 or 7 missions each) to start to get some sense of the different play styles. Remember that each armour has a very different play style impact, so even at this early stage (March 2018) that is three classes each with three very different armours for nine different play styles (considering only the armour differences – before even factoring the weapons or the psyker’s numerous options).

Psyker abilities can be customized with up to three variations simultaneous ways in which the powers can be altered.

Good story, good concept of all players working together to affect the realm.

Multiplayer and the ability to crank of the difficultly level ensures the game can be challenging for any gaming group.

Oh...yeah…and this is still an early release.

Highly playable early release – feels like there will be no issue with them hitting fully release in May 2018.

Excellent 4X space build, explore, fight, conquer and persuade game. I enjoy the random galaxies, and random quests and random minor races that gives the game great variety. I can choose any path to victory and the playable races are very different form one another. Detailed game options for PvAI means you can change the game experience you will have.

Beautiful graphics for the systems, the exploration and the battles. Only the ground battles appear a little plain by comparison.

Overall good, fun and easy to get into game, with a enough sophistication that it will last as you get better.

Great PvE space combat game with a surprisingly good story that explains a lot. Strongly recommend the DLC as the extra missions and the characters from those missions give you a great ingame expereince.

Good fun game to spend a few hours with each night as you try to progress through the missions and story.
