After About 400 Hours, i feel inclined to give this game a thumbs up.

Besides all the advantages this game has over its competitors that other reviewers pointed out in their reviews, i must add one very specific case in which I think this has an edge over them.

This games pricetag is lower than other cooperative shooters.
Fatshark is constantly releasing time exclusive skins in their shop which arguably are overpriced but nonetheless the only monetized mechanic after a Year in this games lifecycle.
If you take a look at direct competitors, you get competitive shooters with coop elements like Call of Duty or full cooperative shooters like Payday 3, you will see a significant increase in the pricetag.
In addition to this, there will be a shop for skins and possibly additional DLC Content for 10-15 extra Euros.

Darktide has none of that.
You can enjoy the full content with only the basegame which is on sale frequently.

That said, there are a few player-phenotypes to who I would not reccomment this game in any way.

If you are trying to Level-up your character as fast as possible, then look at a video of a famous streamer who tells you which skills and weapon to pick and then exclusively play that, this game is not for you.

If you are a player who constantly wants to get new loot and swap your legendary Chainaxe for another Legendary for that sweet 2% Dmg Increase, this game is not for you either. Darktide provides you with new loot in a way, but the intervals are way longer than say in ARPGs like Diablo IV.

If you are a player who does not want to look out for what you teammates are currently doing, or help them if they are stuck in situations in which they are unable to perform the duties of their repective roles, this game will only let you succeed in the first 4 of the 5 (Arguably 6) difficulty settings.


This Game is very challenging, looks incredible on modern gaming rigs and is constantly giving out new content like new skilltrees in patch 14 or new maps and bosses like the orthus offensive for free.
If that is not enough for you for 25 $ on sale, you might want to look elsewhere.
