If you didn't like Arkane's Prey, or have no previous experience with SS you shouldn't even try this.
But for those who did
I strongly recommend this as a modernized time-capsule of the ways of old.
That obviously brings tons of caveats , lack of QL and removes virtually every type of handholding and player help imaginable.

As far as the modernized parts go, I felt the visual design brought some problems itself. Now that everything is more detailed the crucial items and mission objectives had a bad tendency to blend into the background. On one occasion I went back to the starting area just to clear everything out to double check and stumped upon an audio recording that was for an objective already way done. I must have walked past it many, many times. You can guess how fun it was to hunt for an audio recording that would tell the next objective when you had no idea where it could be. Puzzles also have just tiny indicators that are easy to miss if you don't know you should be looking for them.

Nevertheless, Nightdive delivered an exceptionally faithful remake to frankly ancient source material and that should be commended.

Shodan is an excellent villain and someone whose virtual heel I wouldn't want to be under of.
Or would I..? For I am just a pathetic creature of meat and bone.
