Vampire Survivors' gameplay with a Diablo-esque artstyle. Super fun and cheap.

Technical issues aside, this is a great remake that everyone should play. Unfortunately the female characters did get uglified.

Although I disliked the new semi-open world map design and would've rather played through a linear story like in the first two games, it is still a great successor to the amazing Metro 2033 and Last Light. There are however things that haven't been fixed to this day, like the performance issues with bad GPU utilization and huge frametime spikes and bad dialogue pacing when using the russian voiceover.

A huge disappointment when compared to the first game. Everything from fighting to story is worse. Yes, even the story, which was already bad in the first game. This one might have better graphics, but I still like the aesthetic and the overall look of the first game more. Thank god I didn't pay for this and got it from a friend for free. I wouldn't pay more than 20€ for this, and at this point you could just as well buy the first game with all it's DLC.

How did I miss the Steam release?

What happens when a group of 4chan users make a game? Katawa Shoujo.

This was the first visual novel I ever read (out of the three or four I've ever read). I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Back when I played it in 2012 or 2013 I had no clue what this was about. I was still a teenager and it amazes me to this day that a VN even caught my attention back when I was this young. I was playing Doom, Quake, COD and CS back then, not things like KS. This shouldn't have been on my hard drive back then.

I started playing on an afternoon and got so into it that I even skipped school the next day, just to finish my first route, which was Hanako. I actually had tears in my eyes when I got the good ending on my first try. How did some text and a few pictures almost make me cry? No idea. But I loved it. No other game made me feel that way. I felt connected, the main character had the same spirit as me at that time, it was so good.

After that I had to take a break. I launched the game every evening and just listened to the music, but I couldn't get myself to start another route. After months I finally decided to give it a go again and played the Lilly route. Same as before, it made me tear up. I had to stop again.

Then, after a few years, I installed it again and finished the remaining routes. Unfortunately the feeling I got back in the day did not come back. Maybe because of my age, maybe because of other reasons. But I'll never forget my first route and the feelings during and after playing through it.

There is no point in actually talking about the game itself because at this point everyone should know it or at least recognize it. Play it. If you don't like reading, at least give it a try.

Back when the standard edition was priced at 70€, this game was not worth it at all, unless you're a die-hard Diablo fanatic.

The basic edition now costs 49,99€ or 29,99€ on a 40% sale at the time of me writing this. That's a fair price for what you get. The 25-30 hour long campaign was interesting enough to play through it but towards the end I started rushing the main missions, just to unlock a few things and get it over with. At first I played on mouse+keyboard, but later tried an Xbox controller and it improved my experience by a lot. I could lean back and enjoy the combat. The combat feels good, the skill tree is very basic, but gets the job done and there should be enough skills for you to try out and find something you like.

My biggest complaint is the open world map itself. The world feels empty. Very empty. Running around on empty wastelands with no purpose. There are events scattered around, but until you get there, it's all empty. What I also don't like is the fact that they, at one point, wanted this to be an MMO but later thought "Hmm, let's not make another Diablo Immortal" and changed it into Diablo IV. There are people running around the map with you, in the settlements, and I don't like it. In the settlement, alright, I can live with that, but when I go outside and go to an event, I want to be alone. Because of this you also need to be always online, which in 2024 is not a problem, unless you want to play on the go, on a Steam Deck for example.

"The rest", so things like the soundtrack, the overall performance, the voice acting etc. are all good. But Blizzard never disappoints when it comes to these things.

I'd get it on sale. I enjoyed my time and that's what games are for.

Amazing remake, the best of the bunch. I'm so glad they remade this. Leon's my favourite character in the series. The original game was already a 10/10 game, especially with mods, and this is on par with it. The only two negative things I can say about it are the narrow field of view, even with the slider set to max, and Ada's new voice actress. Everything else is near perfect.
