I have come to really enjoy the whole "simulation" genre... maybe it's my age? Maybe it's the frustration at work where I need to follow rules and do what others state? Who knows.. but being able to play these games like House Flipper, or Car Mechanic Simulator and do what *I* want to do it fun and relaxing.

I bought Train Station Renovation while I was on a call "just because" and I haven't been disappointed. I really enjoy sorting the trash, cleaning the floors, and ensuring everything is neat and orderly. My wife was very quick to ask me why I don't enjoy doing those things in real life, and well, scrubbing floors just is not as comfortable in real life as it is when I'm sitting in my gaming chair, mouse in hand. Besides... in this game I like to do 3 pointers with the trash into the trash bins. Not sure my back it up for that IRL.

Train Station Renovation does place SOME limitations on you, however, by telling you what each area in the station "requires" before it is considered "complete" - these are usually the bare minimum number of things (like benches, and vending machines, etc..) - which isn't too bad, because you are allowed to obviously do more than the minimum, which is often the thing to do to really "flush out" the stations.

I haven't yet played with the miniature train station model in the office room - but plan to explore that once I've completed all my renovation contracts. Each station takes in an around an hour for me, and it's just a relaxing way to spend some time.
