Decent expansion to planetary annihilation. Fun RTS, some good AI mods make it more interesting too.

I always liked this game and got it on Steam a while back. Just bought a copy for a friend a week or so ago and now it's on sale for 75% off; so there's that.

This is a rewrite and doesn't feel like an enhancement to the original content of the game. It's a re-interpretation of it that unfortunately disappointed me for a variety of reasons. I own the original game's collector's edition and expansions for context.

I tried very hard to like it, but in the end the experience was more frustrating than pleasurable and I ended up requesting a refund after a couple of days. I believe it shows up for Xbox game pass for PC, which could offer a trial of sorts for those wishing to check it out. That said, the price isn't insane at 20 USD and if you're new to AoE III, it could be a good experience.
