A true labour of love, receiving multiple massive updates over the years for free that many other publishers would release as paid DLCs

Very happy to see these classic games returned, the improved sound and Gold Box Companion bundled is a real bonus. However if you did not play them back in the day and lack the nostalgia lens you may find it hard going.

The game when it came out was groundbreaking and set the template for games up to and including the most recent titles. However even back then it was a bit crashy. This has gotten worse over the years, couple with a required Uplay client that keeps logging itself out, fails to sync and is generally a nuisance. Finally, as other reviews note Ubisoft are pulling not only all online services (understandable even if a jerk move) but all DLC as well. A seriously unnecessary move which feels like a cynical push to sell there remastered version which is available only on a subset of platforms.

A well made review of a classic game. The addition of the level editor is a nice bonus.

A welcome return of a classic RPG. Hordes of the Underdark is still an excellent campaign and Darkness at Daggerford pushes this game forward the way it always should have.

A decent engine upgrade for one of the most iconic RPGs of all time!

I do understand the negative reviews from people who were expecting an L4D clone, but that is not what this game strives to be. It is an objective focussed team game in the vein of Payday 2 rather than a linear corridor zombie killing game like L4D. Play it as it is designed and it is a fun and often tense experience. Try to play it like L4D and you will be frustrated as you are overwhelmed by walkers.

Early Access Review
I very much enjoyed the game some time ago, but then started to give up due to development being dead. I had all but written it off when a new dev took over and has since released multiple updates. As a result the original skeleton of an idea has become fleshed out and it is once again a very enjoyable survival game. I haven't gotten far past the first island yet however what I have played over time has been very enjoyable and I am happy to see this game back from the dead :)

On a whim I decided to replay this game years after first completing it. It still holds up today. The fear is real, the atmosphere is thick and the gameplay is timeless. One of the few games I feel that truly age gracefully.

Unfortunately I bought this before refunds existed. I finally decided to write a review after tying to get support to get this POS working. Sadly Steam support told me to speak with the developer, but the developer didn't even respond to several e-mails. Basically all I could do is hide this in my Steam library and curse myself for not reading the reviews before buying.
