one imagines the untitled goose game to be simple in nature, yet it is far from. as one continues throughout the adventure of this mischievous mallard, they gain a sort of appreciation for its complexities. coming from someone recently engrossing themselves in this journey, i can wholeheartedly back up this claim. whether its your first time through, just completing the core objectives and exploring the four diverse regions, or finding the secret tasks, ones much harder, its clear that untitled goose game is great.

typical to many indie games, this treasure was clearly well polished and carefully designed. the way that they designed the game in a way that is obviously 3D, but cleverly put in a perspective of 2D style gameplay was a breath of fresh air from the usual one or the other. untitled goose game as a whole is lovely; the art style: magnificent, the soft piano music: beautiful, the interactions made with the npcs: hilarious at times.

my only gripe with the final product is the achievements, more specifically, the "___, quickly" set. to complete these achievements and 100% the game, each area has to have its tasks done in less than seven minutes. for this to happen, you must find a route that allows for quick task-doing, while avoiding the finicky movement of npcs and grab mechanics. even then, it could be imperfect, and the tasks might be done right after the bell strikes. when this happens, its time to restart and try again. this, without a doubt, was the worst experience, especially the back gardens.

in summary, the untitled goose simulator is not perfect, it can be at times one of the most frustrating things available on steam, and at others you feel like you are on top of the world. my time playing this was a mix of these things, and i overall had a wonderful time. house house made a masterpiece, but one not everyone can understand.
