The road stretched out before me, narrow and stony and pocked with weeds

A road of no particular promise, yet the sight of it filled me with a vast longing

My home was down that way, and beyond it, beautiful stretching mountains, lively cities, barren plains, and all the other places I would never see


The world was down that road... and I was here.
