Up until I actually bought this game at a Steam sale I only knew it for its controversial exclusivity deal with the epic games store (amusingly shared with the similarly titled The Outer Worlds). I'm glad that stigma seems to be waning now, because it really deserves to be known for more than that.

I unfortunately can't write much more about it, since it's one of those games that's all about the exploration and any information is a spoiler. But rest assured: you will laugh, you will cry, and you will learn all there is to know about sudden stops.

I first played this game in 2018, using a PlayStation 2 emulator along with a, lets say, less than legal ISO of the PS2 version. Even back then, with all the hassle and issues that come with 6th gen emulation, I could feel that this game was truly something special. The art direction, the music, the combat, the story, the characters; it all made me feel a way I really haven't felt about a game before. It's tough to describe, so I'll just summarize my thoughts by saying that it is one of my favorite games of all time. If you're only gonna play one action adventure game in your whole life, then make it this one.

With a game this good, Hat Kid has every right to be smug.

So i bought this game a week ago and finally got around to playing it today.
I bough a car, set up my crew, and have my first race in Greece.
I slip off the mountain once and drive upp the wall twice.
I got second place.
I dread to think what happened to the guy in last.
