I can't review this hot mess again yet, 8 years isn't long enough. Tried multiplayer a few times this week and everything was bugged and jank. If they enabled screensaver mode (which was in the first versions) my playtime would be thousands of hours. But the combat is pants, missions don't work, and the "small team" excuse wore thin once they passed 5 employees. Sorry Sean but I pre-ordered and it still just doesn't work, and the pop-in is worse than Skyrim. in 2024. Go fish

(Runs on Macbook) This feels like a cozy, couch-controller mash-up of Kingdom and Godus with a few real nights of content, which is fair for the price. How much more the Devs will add is anyone's guess? There's a strong learning/difficulty curve in the handful of levels already and tech upgrade tree and an endgame "endless mode."

Dumb ways to die,
So many dumb ways to die...

While I preferred the enemy designs of XCOM (1) this does what you'd expect, well.

The Avatar timer is complete BS but it's easy to edit the .ini file.

I haven't tried the big expensive DLC which adds a hundred extra problems, these are enough for now.

Play on Iron Man so you lose your whole campaign to one pixel mis-clicks :p

Oh. Locking the mech unit behind another paid DLC (Shen's Last Gift) is not chill.

This isn't a game. It's an anonymous support community for whatever you're going through right now, and maybe more importantly, a portal to strangers who may be in such a dire situation that a few Kind Words from you could give them the boost to carry on and turn things upwards with more confidence.

For four? FIVE? YEARS! Two devs have moderated millions of messages to keep this fragile community safe. If that isn't worth the price of a fancy coffee, what is?

A nice, tight, pink and moist student game. If the devs do something longer for money I'm in.

Sugar Daddy simulator. Cure anime boys of being Furry by earning and spending millions of dollars on gifts, until they take off their costume and show their abs and toes. An autoclicker is a must - I use VoiceAttack. The adult DLC just dropped and does what you'd expect. There's no gameplay or story to speak of, the art is endearing. 69/69 would play on work computer again.

This is a steal and the feature list is "What Doesn't It Do?"

Aside from making custom voice commands quickly and making or downloading a Star Trek-style fake AI for spaceship games, this darn thing comes with a full C# editor and compiler so you can program it to do ANYTHING.

The UI is mouse-driven menu-based visual coding of programs or macros that can be triggered by any combination of voice, mouse, keyboard or controller inputs... including combos to get many many commands from few keys...

People use it in their day job. People use it to make voice controlled Smart Homes. Users with physical illnesses or setbacks use it to function at higher percent. It's on Steam cos Valve employees use it. It's inexpensive and very useful!

The sole developer Gary is a kind and funny guy and gives his email as frontline support, there's also a forum and 24/7 Discord if you have any difficulties.

Many people only buy VA to unlock William Shatner mode in Elite:Dangerous, cos that's a thing (HCS voice-pack sold seperately). But you could just use it as your non-Cloud voice assistant to do basic help like setting a countdown timer, or as a jukebox player while you're in VR and can't use mouse, or to spice up your livestream by starting a poll or switching OBS scenes on a dime...

It's popular in the DCS, Truck Sim, Star Citizen, Twitch and engineering communities, but just as good if you're a cook and both hands are messy when you need your computer to do something.

Foot controllers are a thing now too - maybe a good way to do Push To Talk. Heck, you can get mercury tilt-switches. Night Mode UI reskin is built-in and it scales from 720p to 4k.

It's not for everyone. If you read the full, very chatty and detailed manual it'll set you back an hour. It's a gateway drug to C# programming. But imagine the possibilities!

This experience is remarkable. Two brothers and a sound expert built a little limbo where you can contemplate attachment, fear, greed, disappointment, shock, wonder, progression and similar Nominalisations while being basked in gloriously adept feedback candy.

The way the (hidden) Achievements are doled out seems harsh perhaps; some will wonder how, being already dead, one could still die again, or if loss of possessions really robs one of anything; personally, I noted the constant suggestions of threat and viewed them with a somewhat open mind, but the lions and tigers and bears oh my! certainly gave me moments of existential dread as I paced the road.

It was interesting resisting the obvious power-ups (in the form of permanent unlocks exchanged for thievery, such as trampling a thousand plants at lightspeed) and I greatly enjoyed the dialog with various entities and the "Simlish" voiceovers, full of warmth and character.

The ending seemed fair to me and I am somewhat curious about all the stories to be uncovered if I "spent my" Tributes differently... but one playthrough is enough, right?

You can see roughly what you're getting, has some proper adventure games features like using and combining objects to solve puzzles and a secret ending, it's not AAA or Shakespeare but it's quite a thoughful story with humour and heart, and some other body parts. Immersive soundtrack and a perfect built-in hints system which doesn't break the 4th wall. Would have been happy to pay the developer something for this and I'll watch out for any other projects. :)
