Sadly it's worse in many ways compared to the alpha, probably because Wollay doesn't seek any sort of feedback. While I enjoyed it for the first couple of regions, I began to feel the drain after that, as there is no progression, and there really isn't much to explore that is interesting, as the generation of the world is not only the same for everyone, but it's a lot less unique than alpha.

But everyone has said this a million times, so I will just go through some of the listed features of the game and say my thoughts on them.

  • Choose between four different classes: Warrior, Ranger, Mage, Rogue.

There were plans to add more classes and subclasses, but things change in 6 years, so this isn't a big deal really.

  • Action-based combat with dodging, aiming, combos, special skills and more.

Combat can be fun, though simpler than alpha, but the biggest problem is there isn't a reason to fight mobs other than the quest related ones. And who knows if you'll get a quest you can even complete.

  • Explore a nearly infinite, procedurally generated fantasy world.

The alpha's world generation was much better than what Cube World has now, as it wasn't restricted with the region lock system. Each region has several points of interests, which are usually named, and these points have either a single quest, a single item, or a lore tablet. That's it. Every area is about the same, once you go through 2 area, you basically know all the buildings and events that will happen. There are also dungeons, which have VERY underwhelming artifacts at the end.

  • Craft weapons, armor, potions, elixirs and food and more from ingredients found throughout the world.

In the alpha, you used to be able to edit your weapons much more than what was given in the full game. I guess it doesn't matter now as your weapons are useless after one region.

  • Tame pets that fight along your side and can be used as mounts.

This is probably the best part if you like collecting everything, but even this is worse than alpha, as pets are useless at fighting, and will only ever be used as mounts. Otherwise they die every 5 seconds in combat.

  • Retrieve unique magic artifacts to level up and improve your skills.

This to me seems very dishonest, those artifacts will either give you very slightly more mount movement speed, sail speed, swim speed, etc. There is no feeling of progression for a slight increase in stats no one cares about. And "leveling up" doesn't mean anything, all it does is show how much time you've wasted collecting artifacts that do nothing.

  • Earn gold to buy items or to book an eagle flight to new lands.

This goes back to the world generation. The entire map generation LOOPS after a while. Obviously it can't be infinite, but this is a very cookie cutter way of keeping things "infinite". Wouldn't be AS big a deal if the map wasn't the same for every player, and if the terrain was actually more unique.

  • Cube World's unique per-land progression system makes finding loot, solving quests and clearing dungeons rewarding and exciting over and over again.

No. This is just wrong. After two regions, you have seen everything, you can easily predict what the next region will want you do to and the places it will have you explore. It will use the same 5 or so quests, the same 3 or so dungeons, and finding the gear you just found once again. Which is another annoying part.

  • Use your hang glider to take to the skies or explore the oceans with your boat.

This is nice, until you enter a new region, and you have to find them again. It really sucks when the NPCs don't tell you where they are , meaning you might just complete all the quests and never find the means to make travel more convenient. I can understand keeping certain items region locked if you're going to do that system, but the glider, boat, climbing shoes, and saddle should NOT be locked. It actively discourages exploration, not that there is much deviation in stuff to discover.
