It's not a game that you might want to play non-stop for a week, but maybe a few days a week and then go back to it. Some of the missions are a little ridiculous, but thanks to the (in-game) shop and talents/blueprints that stay with you as you progress, it makes building up a solid base much easier. Mission rewards do feel rewarding, but Icarus can be a bit of a grind to get what you want. Overall, if you like survival/crafting/base-building games, you'll probably like Icarus.

Pros:
*Good variety of weapons, tools, and structures that dramatically scale.
*Resources are sufficiently abundant. Exotics are the only ones that you'll struggle to find until you unlock certain shop items
*Icarus allows you to keep blueprints and talents that you've unlocked, and has an ability to reset them
*Can be played solo or cooperatively
*The game looks nice if your computer can run it on ultra

Cons:
*Enemy spawns can be a bit ridiculous (i.e. you leave a cave after killing all of the worms for 2 seconds, and immediately enter to find them respawned. It usually doesn't happen, but it does sometimes)
*Storms seem to be too frequent and are (in my opinion) unnecessarily punishing
*Some of the expedition missions make you take enormously long detours to finish an already long mission. The detours sometimes take hours.
*If you have a fast computer, you can skip large sections of the intro video, or if you're like me and don't have a good computer anymore you have to watch the whole thing, which is almost a minute and a half long.

Early Access Review
Pretty fun. Wouldn't have over 500 hours if it weren't.

Play on Jedi Master mode for the biggest challenge, and also as it may be too easy on other difficulties. Block, parry, and dodge-style combat not dissimilar to Dark Souls. Normal enemies can be deadly on the top difficulty, and bosses are unforgiving.

Likes: Excellent story and lots of cool places to explore. The use of Force Pull/Push is well done and looks as good as it does in the movies. Lightsaber combat is also well done and the combo animations can be mesmerizing to watch. NPC conversations and cut-scenes are enjoyable, and I typically don't like them in games.

Dislikes: At times laggy and/or glitchy. Game developers seem overly in love with ice slides.
