20h perdidas.

6.5/10
PROS:

8/10 - The controls can deceive you. Don't trust them.

KOTOR II was in my backlog since 2015 and I can say the rumors about this game were true: this a MUST for Star Wars fans. The campaign was fun, with lots of choices and interesting sidequests, though you can't opt out to kill certain individuals if you didn't sided with the Republic, even if you follow the light side of the Force.

The characters are the best chunk of the game. You can develop so many connections with them and you will see yourself thinking a lot about which ones you choose to go with to a place. Bao-Dur, MIra, Mandalore and Visas were my most frequent choices.

Personally, I HATE the controls. And I HATE turn-based combat and its stupid rolls mechanics. In my experience there is no such thing as luck, specially in a Star Wars Universe context. You are there, striking with your lightsabers and constantly missing a target close straight in front you. If this game had come after Mass Effect 2, borrowing its control and combat mechanics, this would be a perfect 10/10 game. I must praise Jedi Fallen Order for having one of the best combat in the SW games franchise.

To keep all this HATE from leading to SUFFERING, I've changed the inputs to be a little more "WASDy" and learned to endure the boringness, limitations and lack of agency of its combat mechanics.

Note: if you plan to play KOTOR II with the awesome cut content Mod, do it from the start. Mod the game before starting any character, and you won't have the soundless NPCs or autoskipped messages issues.

Waited a long time to buy this game on Steam so I can have the trilogy in the same place and organized in my game library.
Unfortunately, this release still have the performance issues listed in 2015 EA's forum postings. This version also runs a second Oring called 'OriginThin' which have 0 use: you can't set the game up and it doesn't keep the main Origin app settings.
This game runs BAD! FPS dropping to numbers like 12 or 15 in a PC that played Doom Eternal with 56-60fps at 2560x1080p in High.
Tried to solve the bad framerate with the 'GamerSettings.ini' method by removing the FPS cap but this made the game play WORSE with enemies becoming more precise, being unable to use skills from cover and shield taking so much longer to recharge. The game's difficulty is somehow tied to the FPS, being affected by it.

In short, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. I'm struggling to get a refund.

PREY it!

I was so immersed. Whether floating in space, doing recycling or creating multiple saves after putting together 20 neuromods to explore different skill paths ... this game hooked me up!
  1. Gameplay: smart, inventive and takes us back to the Half-Life era of FPS games, with enough freedom to approach multiple and surprising situations. The characters are relatable, distinct and interesting and I found myself actually feeling some deaths and wanting to know the history of each corpse scattered around Talos I (and there is a story for the vast majority of them). Enemies keep us alert as they behave in a diverse and organic way, which requires creativity and fast thinking. It is very hard until mid game, Then it becomes an "easy that punish you hard for the mistakes you should no longer commit at this point", keeping the game challenging enough. 09/10
  2. Narrative: Keeps you interested in the story, presents you with a number of moral questions about humanity's role in the face of new discoveries, about what it is to be a human being, about the consequences of our choices and what we will do after doing them. 08/10
  3. Art Direction: It's exquisite! So many details in every part of the station, it really looks like a place that was recently inhabited. I really liked how this game referred me to 2001 Space Odyssey, Star Wars and Pandorum in its art style, its environment building and its verisimilitude. The weapons and equipment are aesthetic and logical, with an interesting and clean design. 10/10
I always liked the work of Arkane Studios and with this game they put another gem in their catalog. Thank you so much for this game! Worth every penny.

This game ROCKS!
If you like the classic 90's shooters, this game is for you! Fast action, nice weapons, secrets areas, some plataforming.
In addition, the game offers a wide customization range, with weapon upgrades, skills and powers to unlock.
I loved the way the skills work, with keyboard + click combinations like W, W + Left Mouse Button (hold to charge). It's really useful while in combat and there are no delay. Some skills are used off combat.
The dialogue is OK, with some good humour and references. The soundtrack is beautiful and recall the old Shadow Warrior.

AND, if you played the original SW back in the 90's, you HAVE to play this!

Can't remember the last time I've played a game with so MANY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BUGS!
Charaters missing action; enemies that drop dead in front of you when you touch them; saved games that fails to save the triggered actions and you have nothing to do then; floor disappearing; floor missing texture; overshadowed objects; gravity problems; framerate drop; misplaced hitboxes; so many collision problems; etc; etc; etc.

DO. NOT. BUY. THIS. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. GAME.
