In a world there's a giant gorilla, a man in a massive suit of armour and an advanced military mechanical suit around, all of these things are easier to kill than Roadhog, except the mech, who's TIE with Roadhog. Roadhog, who's just some guy with his belly exposed, with no armour to speak of...and he's willing to wade directly into close range of powerful enemies.
In a world of obscenely powerful rocket weaponry, laser guns and other fancy armaments, Roadhog fires literal scrap metal at you for the highest single shot damage in the game, 225 damage a shot. In a land of magical healing lasers there's nobody that can compare to Roadhog taking a break for 2.5 seconds, just to remind himself that he's Roadhog and you're about to die. I don't know what's in that drink but it seems to work at a parity with advanced, near magical technology.
Everyone in this world of weird, powerful people is afraid of a piece of bent metal? Why? Because in Roadhog's hand that hook becomes a speeding projectile of doom, it's no less than the cold hand of death itself. This random guy has enough power in one arm to propel a 400 pound gorilla towards himself, a mech towards himself, a giant man in a suit, even! Nobody is safe.
Roadhog, with nothing more than his own raw strength, grit and Australian fury is a match for advanced military technology. Mako Rutledge, in a world of heroes, shows us that hedonistic indifference still has a place.
